Hi guys,

Just finishing up my kitchen and have quartz coming in on Wednesday. Need to start thinking about the backslash, possibly something with a little color to it. We checked out Home Depot, Lowes and Rona, and didn't find anything we really loved, so want to expand to specialized tile stores. One store i will check out next week is City Tiles, but was wondering if anyone has any other recommendations. I only need about 16 12x12 mosaic tiles to make the backsplash.

Maple Leaf flooring was excellent for me.

Bumping this old thread to avoid being chastised for making a new one.

I'm looking to match my existing black builder grade 12x12 tile but the closest thing any of the big box stores have has a brown hue to them. Is there anywhere else I should be looking with a decent in-stock selection and isn't going to price gouge?

There's like a dozen tile stores down by Frank Sissons Casino. I don't know which one would be best, but the people at Euro tile were nice when I was in there.

Julian has the best tile anywhere but nothing that works for you.

Try Ames.

But you probably won't find anything that matches. You don't have spares?

+1 for all of this.

Trying to match old tile is very difficult, any installer will typically recommend you buy an extra box to have around for this reason (yes, I know this isn't helpful info haha).

Oh sorry, I am not looking to match perfectly, I'm totally fine with "close enough". I have a box of the original tile which is what I have been taking with me to compare but when the box store "black" tile is either high gloss or a very dark brown that doesn't constitute close enough. The box it is in is beat to shit so I'm not able to pull any markings off of it to figure out where it came from in order to search a manufacturer.

I'm doing whole bathroom including shower as well as an area in front of my bar and a back splash so what I have left over from the house isn't enough. I just don't want to go into my basement and have something not even in the same realm as what I have in the rest of the house is all.

Maybe I'll make a trip up by that Casino (which I think is a storage facility now?) and see what is around there.

Gross. There is no need to match tile in different rooms. That screams cheap.

Julian is open Saturdays. Trust me, they have beautiful, beautiful tile. That place makes me cry.

My OCD could not handle different styled rooms across my house.

Get over it. Different styles in each room adds a lot of character to the house.

When the wife and I were looking last fall we randomly stopped into Ceratec at the corner of Barlow and 106 SE.

Super friendly sales people and they also recommended an installer.

My wife was happy with the whole process..and there fore so was I.

You weren't lying, its like tile-town up there. I drove around there and stopped at half a dozen spots but was actually more successful on the quartz front than I was on tile. I've got a few business cards to follow up with guys on though.

These guys actually carry the exact tile line I have in my house except not in the same dimensions. I'm going to go chat with them about ordering and lead times.

For our basement bathroom, I bought a mid-better quality tile that was being discontinued from either Rona or Lowe's and they were so fuckin cheap, I thought it was an error.
I think a worker helped me and because I took all of whatever colour I think he gave me another 20% off and they were already like 80% off.
It was bananas!

So I took that 100% savings from my tiles and bet on sports, just like Jesse Pinkman and Matthew Barnaby told me to!
