Is this the same vehicle you are hardwiring the V1 to? It seems similar if the demo vehicle is an F80 and you have an E90?

I have hardwired a V1 in a 2007 ML320cdi, it was time consuming but it was my first time and wasn't my vehicle.

I suggest putting the V1 where you want it first, then after opening up the overhead console feed the telephone wire from the unit to the overhead console opening and then start attaching the clips/locks. Something to consider might be some electrical tape or something adhesive to attach the hard wire module in place so it doesn't rattle around up there (unless space is tight enough that it wont move, however I would still mount it in place so as not to need to reopen everything due to a rattle).

The disassembly will be the most difficult. Take your time removing the trim pieces, once you have found the wires they outlined attach the scotchLocks (needlenose pliers help if the scotchLocks are slippery). The next difficult part will be feeding the "telephone" wire through the headliner but should be fairly simple.

Make sure you test everything before reassembling.

Alternatively, you can shimmy wire in through the interior trim and piggy-back on the fusebox.

Why don't you just get a Mirrortap? (https://blendmount.com/mirrortap.html) I run one along with a Blendmount for my Passport Max2. Super clean without having to do all that extra wiring.

I have a F82 but I just haven't updated my profile in awhile. I actually got all the trim off, its steps 4-7 that makes me kind of nervous.

Is getting a Blendmount too high for positioning? I was always informed to mount lower on the windshield.
