So a little police matter (not of my doing and not really even involving me) is going to require me to get some text threads off of both an android phone and an iPhone and get these text threads into a document that the affected people can email to the police.

I've tried to do this in the past and have found it do be a real PITA so is there an app or an easy way to do this. I know I can do screen scrapes but I suspect it's going to be text threads that are ridiculously long, months maybe, and I really do not want to spend a whole bunch of time doing this.

Fuck I hate the soap operas that some people get involved in and then I have to be involved in the soap opera just because.

Throw some ideas out.

Had to do this before too. This is what I use for iPhone. Works perfect.

i know IFTTT can dump the messages to a google docs speadsheet as they come in, i have to imagine it can read previous messages as well.

Or maybe titanium backup? i know i can back up texts, i'd imagine it puts them in to a non encrypted CSV or something.

SMS backup and restore - dumps them into your Gmail account like email chains.
