I'm wondering if any of you beyonders who commute from Airdrie to Calgary can help me confirm something. I understand that a semi rolled on the highway and the Southbound lanes were closed for a bit. What I'm wondering is roughly how long it took to get back to normal? I think the road opened again shortly after 8:00 AM but was there a big back up that lingered?

As far as I know the backup lingered for quite some time.
A friend of mine was driving back from Edmonton this morning an was held up in that area for ~30mins. This was around 9:30am.

As an Airdrie resident, it was a shit show getting to work this morning.

I was driving North around 8:15am and Southbound was bumper to bumper going past Yankee Valley Blvd. Cars near the tail were at a dead stop.

Coworker got on the highway at Airdrie around 9 and got to the office around 10. Should normally take 30 minutes to get in

Contractor was supposed to be at the house by 9, called at 8:15 and said would be there at 11, showed up at 12:20. Me thinks they simply double booked themselves and used the traffic as a bullshit excuse.

Left Airdrie at 8:52. Traffic was pretty backed up so I dodged down the backroad, it looked like it was clear by Balzac from what I could see, and I regretted not taking the main highway. Made it to the NE for 9:41, so 20-25min longer than usual from Airdrie to Calgary.

I left Airdrie at about 9:10am and took about 20 mins extra to get to work. There was a stretch of highway south of Airdrie that had a really thick ice build up in the right two lanes.

I reached the north end of Airdrie at about 8:45, and didn't make it to the Balzac overpass until 9:30. Google maps was predicting a 25 minute delay, but it was a little longer.

Did you penalized the contractor Bill?

Did you penalized the contractor Bill?

Still "discussing" the issue.
