The self parking stuff outside your car is really cool. The predictive suspension boost is pretty damn cool. Love the interior, too.

It doesn't even drive itself...pfft.

touch controls are bullshit and super dangerous; give me a physical button any day.

Audis voice controls and how you enter info is total shit too. Had an audi as a rental for a work trip and it took me 30 minutes to figure out how to accurately enter an address downtown calgary while driving down the qe2. My 3 series took me a minute to figure out while in vancouver traffic.

That said, no one understands tall people like audi/vw. I remember the first a4 i drove; i was amazed how far back the driver seat went. it actually went back too far for me (6' 3" all leg). I remember when the phaeton came out being able to stretch my legs out completely in the back seat. But who buys a A8 outside of china? Its a car no one remembers exists.

My silverado has the best voice control. I'll I have to do is so OK Google and it knows exactly what to do.

Updated lights from the bangle but 7 series? Fake exhasut tips.. Although the tech does sound great.

That's a beautiful car. The interior looks to be best in class.

BMW debut the same self parking tech earlier in the year with new 5 series.

Until it can drive around the parking lot on its own looking for a spot, that tech is quite pointless.

tell that to my wife.

I'd buy this for her just to save me bodywork bills.

I somehow like "real" buttons more... Especially in Metal and carbon ....

Self parking... Um... Remember I played on a Lexus 10 ish year ago.. Wasn't that smart, may be newer one is better..

My wife keeps complaining about those pre-collision system and land keep alert shit already....

And I can imagine if driving this in Calgary... That huge touch screen will be full of hand Cream! LOL.....

Unfortunately, VAG is all going to dual touch screen and ditched old MMI wheel. I too prefer button but everyone is chasing touchscreen because they look more futuristic.

I too hate it since voice recognition is so poor in cars and requiring visual feedback for a task that hidden in 2 level of menus isn't the best way to do it.

Parking car from cell phone means both car and phone must have a low latency data connection (unless it's over local wifi or bluetooth which worry me even more). Nice party trick.

I have problem with touch screen back to my 13 yr old Lexus ... It might be ok in summer, but say now, so damn dry here, HV to put hand cream on all the time... :burnout:

And how about while having KFC and driving?

I think the front of this new A8 is quite nice, but a big NO NO for the back ..

That car is ugly as fuck. It looks like an overgrown Jetta/Passat, wtf have you been smoking?

The interior is a billion times better than the last one. I dunno about best in class, really have to see how well the touch interface works before making that call.

The vents seems like it's complicated for the sake of complicated, although I see where designers are going with the design trend of completely hiding vents. Tesla Model 3 does that way better IMO. A hybrid of the 2 would be awesome, hidden like the Model 3, touch vent controls underneath.

Not quite, "bleached blonde, overweight, make up plastered, and bingo playing" ugly, but ya.

Mat Watson is probably my favorite car reviewer on YouTube.

I'd pick one up if I was a fat-ass, self-important, grey haired geezer.

I've noticed a couple of people mentioning hand cream in their car. Who does this? What is this? We're trying to run a a civilization here.

If I saw someone bust out a tube of hand cream in my car, I'd toss them the fuck out. That would be like them breaking out a some KFC or an open bowl of fruit loops with milk. There's 24 hours in the day, moisturize some other time.

Mark me as another one who doesn’t understand how a man can use “hand cream”. I’ve never needed it and I spend hours a day in the driest environment on earth. Must hurt to wipe your vagina with chapped hands?

If I don't use "hand cream" or body lotion, my skin will split and I bleed. Some Calgarian's are from tropical climates and won't survive here without lotion.

Correction, only non-caucasian's will understand.

Bingo! Even friends of mine will borrow hand cream/lip balm from me all the time, and I have to have hand cream/lip balms in each car ...

Gotta stay moist.

The suspension technology is the coolest one IMO. Predictive ride and side impact mitigation are ballin'.

Nothing new.

When it first came out, safety advocates were pissed because it can fly through a speed bump at 50km/h and you wouldn't feel it.

I just let my skin get all dry and crackly, and then my knuckles bleed all the time...that's good too right?
