My sister recently moved to Vancouver and she's asking me to ship her the winter tires/rims from here. What's the best way to ship them? Which company to use? Do I need to box them? How much approx it cost?

Thanks so much!

Try Greyhound... in my experience they've been cheaper than other carriers.

You do need to box/package them however. From Calgary to Toronto it was just under $125 for my 19" rims I sold 2 years ago.

+1 for greyhound. Always used it for wheels. Sent quite a few to Victoria/Vancouver and a couple to Ontario

Ship them grey hound.

Get two pieces of cardboard and sandwich the rim and tire individually and use a lot of tape.

Awesome. Greyhound it is.

What are the requirements for packing them? as long as they are packed in a way that they can't roll around is good enough?

Another +1 for greyhound. Bought wheels off someone they shipped without much protective packaging, boxes were in great shape when they arrived and not even a scuff on the wheels

IIRC all I did was cut some cardboard to protect the rim faces and wrapped the crap out of them. (similar to this:https://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?1866300-How-to-Ship-Wheels-Must-Read!)

Alternatively for not much more you could book a westjet flight out to visit her and bring the wheels/tires over as checked baggage.

A beyonder did this with some hakkas IIRC.
