Posting for a friend:

Currently driving a 2dr honda civic and have a kid on the way and a new dog. Looking to get a 4dr sedan to accommodate everyone.

I am hoping to keep the budget below $20K. With that, I am assuming it will likely have to be a used vehicle - preferably 2015 or newer and less than 60,000KM.

We currently also have a Ford Escape which will be the primary vehicle.

Any recommendations or input is appreciated.

Thanks

Just tell him to save his money and get a minivan.

Nothing destroys cars quicker than kids and dogs

While not a 4 door sedan,
I'm selling a low KM 4-door hatchback. 53,000 km Honda Fit.
In the Marketplace now :)

Needs nothing, just had a synthetic oil change, brand new tires, and priced much lower than your max budget. Seats fold flat if needed and it can carry a ton of stuff (hence Honda Fit haha) and still great on mileage. I just reduced the price as well.

Give me a shout before the weekend if interested as I am not here very often.

Golf Sportwagen.. Or just Golf. Tough to beat the practicality of these.

I would never buy a vehicle that takes a postal code to pass on the highway.

Get an accord or TL with AWD, even with over 100k these things are rock solid.

Huh??

You do realize that a Sportwagen is 13" SHORTER then a TL. And it has a similar 0-60 time of 7.0s vs 6.9 for the TL.

The OP mentioned he wants a sedan as they already have an escape. I drove the 1.8t and while it's quick off the line, more importantly it felt underpowered where it matters the most - the 90-120 passing time. The 3.7L Honda in the TL is more than adequate for single-lane highways. They are completely different vehicles anyway.
