I am pretty sure this is a easy question for anyone with some wiring knowledge (I apparently dont have it haha)

Trying to connect my TV (in living room) to my computer (in computer room) which is separated by one wall and about 20 feet. Is it possible to do this through CAT5 as I have connections in both rooms and I could simply wire together? This would be easiest, otherwise I may have access via the basement but it could be a bit of a challenge.

In the event that I need to run it through the basement can you buy in wall HDMI cables that dont have ends so I can wire it to a plug and make it look professional?

Thanks in advance

You can purchase an HDMI balun which will convert your cat 5 to HDMI. Monoprice will probably be the most cost efficient.

I once looked for a way to put and end on HDMI cable and I was told it's not possible. That was a few years ago but I ended up using cat5.

You can get HDMI -> Cat5 extenders to accomplish this or wall plates with HDMI.

I've used 'em all, baluns, custom extenders, my advice is to get HDBaseT extenders, by far the most reliable especially when dealing with finicky HDCP devices. HDBaseT is a standard for running HDMI over CAT5. Extends not only HDMI, but IR, Ethernet as well. They're priced cheap enough these days where the difference in price is marginal.

Awesome, thanks for the suggestions. Looks like there are options out there, no idea how I missed this on google. I am going to give feeding a wire basically one shot and if its a hassle going this route! Thanks again

I've got one that I bought from monoprice hoping to use but never used it. Went a different route. It looks easy enough to use, I can sell to you.
I'll try to find pictures I took when I put it for sale on kijiji.
