I like the Brabus Smart Roadster better. As much of a fan as I am of DC the smarts just haven't really caught on with me, except for the roadster.

Its weird to me that Brabus would choose to tune a smartfortwo because the car is all about the cheapest form of transportation available - whereas brabus is all about luxury and performance. Its like the two paradigms are not compatible.

How solid are these smart cars anyway. They look like a death trap to me. :dunno: The guy locks up the brakes, and I half expect him to fly right through the windshield.

You have to remember that a lot people in Europe (where smarts are sold primarily) live, work and play strictly in an urban environment. Given the speeds you generally travel inside a city, they are well suited to the task. But will they do well over here?

They are going to start selling the Smart Roadster (here it will be called a Dodge Slingshot) in North America very shortly so we'll see. The Roadster is really the only one that I think will catch on here.

Sorry 1badPT but you are wrong. The Dodge Slingshot is a rip-off of the SMART cars. The SMART cars are coming to Canada in 05/06 and the Roadster will arrive 2-3 years after the fourtwo/forfour/forall are up for grabs in Canada. :)

You do know that smart is owned by daimler chrysler and that dodge is part of DC right? The Dodge slingshot is a rewrap of the Smart Roadster.

Yah I know, but the Smart Roadster will be available in Canada too... 2 different cars, but very similar.

Yeah they differ mainly in body styling. My preference is the slingshot, but that is because i like the new look of dodge front ends. The smart roadster looks from the front a little bit like an alien bug.

Kind of looks like a Lotus Elise from the front...

Doesn't look like it would be a very good autocross car :(

Whether we like it or not, fuel prices are on their way to a dollar a litre very soon - perhaps by the end of this summer. And thats just the present. What do you guess we will be paying for fuel in 2010. Does the thought of there being no more "premium" scare you?
Most of you should still be alive then.
What will it cost to drive your highly modified Talon AWD then?

I applaud the factories that are going out on a limb and bringing cars like the Smart to Canada. Even more, I encourage them to make them fun.
Whether we like it or not, these are the types of cars that we will be using as daily drivers, while our pristine old antique 240SX sits in a garage.

I was very impressed watching that vid. The topheavy-looking little Smart really seemed agile.

Why not? Short, skinny, lightweight, and decent power. I think it'll do pretty well with some sticky tires!

I hope the roadster makes it over here and not the rebadged dodge slingshot. I think the Smart looks better.

I sat in a Smart on sunday and it was very roomie inside. I think the car is cool for such a small vehicle.

The americano's can keep their fourfour cause i dont want a big version :D

But yeah the Roadster is very over priced in Europe. I saw a brabus tuned Roadster on TopGEAR and it had two of it's lil engines welded together. had 212 hp and it absoltuley flew. but it cost 313 Pounds. Which is a tad excessive.

haha

If they sell the roadster for the same price as a new(redesigned) Maita it may do well.:burnout:

Here are the pictures I promised.

The SMART Roadster was going over 100KM/H when it crashed. It wasn't crsuhe dlike everyone though tit would. It's a small strong car.
