St Patrick's Day was never a big deal for me growing up, and aside from it being another excuse to party in university, it has never meant anything to me as an adult.

My kids both brought leprechaun traps home from school yesterday. Nothing happened to them overnight, guess the magic doesn't work in my house.

I'm out at gymnastics with one kid now, most people here are wearing green. I forgot to, and my kid didn't choose green for herself.

I'm a humbug about most holidays, but St Patrick's Day seems especially pointless. Do you do anything for it?

Nope. I'm curious to know, green beer = green shits and pee?

Well when I was younger it guaranteed that no matter what day of the week no matter where I was there was always a party for my Birthday! I wasn't in Canada for 6 of my birthdays in my 20s and no matter where, it was always a gong show.

Now that I'm a fucking senior citizen compared to most folks partying it up it's pretty much just any other day. But hey at least I'm actually Irish lol.

Thanks Sam and happy Birthday Kenny!

Nah. It's amateur night. Real drinkers don't need a holiday/excuse

I don't think he's referring to going out drinking.

There are people that have fucking green ballons and are wearing matching green shirts and shit in their houses posting on facebook. And they aren't Irish, and these are the kind of people that aren't going out getting wrekt.

So that gets a big "wtf" from me. Social media makes everyone an attention whore.

Was at Boston Pizza earlier today and all of the tap beer was tinted green except Rickards Red. Made a point of ordering it. Seriously-green beer?

Drinking just makes me sleepy now

Drinking just enhances whatever mood I'm in beforehand. If I'm mad, I get angrier, if I'm happy, I get fun. But yeah... These days I'm always tired, so drinking makes me more tired.

Green beer and people abbreviating Patrick to "Patty's" instead of "Paddy's" are far and away the worst parts about St. Patrick's Day.

I miss the days in school when I was in Scotland. As you can imagine it was a pretty huge deal. We had plans to start drinking at 8AM and go till however long you can make it. One year by careful pacing myself, I lasted the entire day and made it out at night as well. It helped that my best friend is Irish and we were living together at the time but it hasn't been the same ever since I moved back. These days I don't even know when it is until I see adds in a bar or read online. lol
