Looking to purchase a set of his and her Ballon Bleu watches for a friend who lives in another province that has PST. Figure it is cheaper to buy in Calgary and bring it over. Looks like the only AD's for Cartier is Birks and Brinkhaus. Has anyone had success in negotiating a discount? Everything I seem to read says that Birks doesn't discount on Cartier (or anything for that matter). Anyone know if there is any truth in that? And since Brinkhaus is owned by Birks, do they also not discount on Cartier?

Thanks!

While I haven't specifically bought a Cartier watch, I have purchased several other time pieces from Brinkhaus. Based on past experience, and general knowledge of Cartier watches, I would be very surprised if there wasn't a reasonable discount available. I can't say for certain, but my gut says you might have better luck dealing at Brinkhaus than the Birk's boutique. Jim Dawes is the man to see.

It depends on what material you are looking for, not much discount for all steel men 42mm version, but more discount for ladies', gold/diamond 33mm version ..

42mm Steel Balloon is the hot seller within the Cartier range, (and the 42mm diver, esp the Blue one) so, minimum concession for them ...
