tldr, oil to be traded in Yuan to reduce clout of USD and US ability to borrow to keep going.

China can fuck USA so hard if they want to through no longer buying treasuries and forcing investment in currency other than USD.

This ties in exactly to a policy paper I'm writing for my Polisci class. Holy timing, thanks for the read.

Don’t worry guys, I have it on very good authority that trade wars are easy to win

Not that it matters, America is seamlessly transitioning from relying on its status as the dominant force in global economics to instead being self sufficient through such innovative ideas as giving trillions to the military, trillions more in no-strings-attached tax cuts to the wealthy, and waging war against ridiculous notions that are “science based” or “evidence based”

This has nothing to do with a trade war. This was coming one way or another. Impeccable timing on Xi's part though, very well played.

End of the day, the strongest countries will always be those with plenty of people, because duh. As long as you can get those people to be mildly productive and pay them nothing, it's pretty easy to come out on top.

China fully understands trade war. Other nations will have a much harder time with it, including certain parts of Europe.

So how does Canada fair if oil shifts to being bought and sold in Yuan versus USD?
