Well this is from a Simoniz pressure washer, apparently Hose Reel Connector Kit B, SKU: VE01-002-0002

Which they're out of, but will gladly sell the entire reel :thumbsdow

Anyways, looking to have the brass fitting repaired (or if anyone know's where I can get a generic replacement).

Thanks in advance!

I would check Gregg Distributors, should be able to find something under brass fittings. They have an online catalog.

Thanks, I actually looked them up already. They don't have anything like that. I can't think of any brass fitting supply warehouses off the top of my head.

I could braze it, but what is attached to that piece? Looks like a banjo fitting.

Simoniz eh? Go to Canadian Tire on a quiet day with a wrench.

Alberta Forest and Garden on Meridian Rd. Has weird parts like this. Was just there on Friday for a new unloader for my pressure washer.

Thanks for all the leads guys. I'm going to try Princess Auto first then over to Alberta Forest and Garden to see if they have something that'll work.

If they cant warranty it or provide the part and its still the "current model" I know exactly what i would do..... buy new, return old. So annoying when companies dont back their product.

Unfortunately not the current model, still haven't been able to locate a replacement part locally.

Material looks too thin to be TIG welded, other ways to fix this?

Get it brazed.

You can't weld brass, have to braze it.

Anyone have suggestions on where to braze it?

what is the wall thickness? i have tig welded brass on several occasions. usually not pretty but can be machined/sanded back down to look better.

i thought at first it had a really thin wall but looking at it, it looks around 1/8'? if it is i could probably weld it without a backer. brazing with silfos or something would work but i am the suck at brazing.

imo it should be clamped tight back to original shape, the crack should be vee'd out a bit (machined) still clamped or re-clamped then welded with silicon bronze or aluminum bronze rod? or brazed? that will give the best chance of successful functional repair lol

legendboy - yup ~1/8" thick. Not sure if it would require the crack to be machined or not, but probably clamped together to close up the crack?

If you are out near Cochrane I will braze it up for you in 20 seconds. Brazing everything is what my job entails. Maybe it was bronze that can’t be welded, I tried TIGing one of the two and it was nasty.

I'm more concerned on why it broke. Something must have been twisting it to crack it and it will likely happen again.

Darell_n - thanks for the offer, I can pop into Cochrane fairly easily. Not sure how it broke, I don't believe it was from the pressure. Perhaps it fell and hit something?

I figured since from a pressure washer it was frozen water

Weird part was I drained the entire system and flushed with windshield washer fluid.

Darell_n - thanks again for giving this a go. Sadly, looks like I'll need to buy a new reel assembly.

How much is it? Post a pic of whats left. It a pretty simple part. Probably have to grind a threading tool.

legendboy - the part is actually cheap $9.99 per website (this fitting that is), problem is that it's been sold out. So it's only available for purchase as part of a reel assembly.

Finally got around to finding a solution. It will work with other Simoniz pressure washers likely.

Rather than using this fitting to connect to the reel, I by-passed the reel altogether by just connecting the pump to the hose directly. Found out that it was a 14mm x 1.5 pitch and went to Gregg's to get a double male end fitting which allowed me to connect both sides together. It cost a total of $7+GST!
