This came up in a discussion about the death of ICE while trying to help a buddy install a Bazooka tube to a factory deck the other day.

Does anyone remember what the hell the cheap, terrible subs and amps London Drugs used to sell were called?!?

My Google-Fu is weak. Hoping one of my fellow old farts on here can remember this, lol.

Probably in my garage I have a set. I'll take a look this weekend.
Or check out pick n pull. Look for an aftermarket head unit and that's a sign the speakers have been changed out.

mr2mike you are the man. Just needs to handle the savage power that the stock 2012 odyssey headunit throws down when my wife has the podcasts cranked, so needs to be pretty high performance.

Pyramid, Blaupunkt, Craig

Edit: Audiovox?

I bought an Audiovox cassette player from London Drugs back in highschool (93)!! So long ago. I think I paid about 80 bucks for that lol

Yes, Pyramid, lol!

Those are definitely the ones in my mind. Big, 'ol hideous purple trimmed amps. Bahahaha.

ExtraSlow - You could also go into a Visions and ask if they have any dead/old stock speakers they're willing to deal on... I did that after blowing a factory one a couple years back. Was like $50 for a set of old BNIB 6x9 JBL's

Pyramid brand for sure.

Haha yep Pyramid. I had one of those big ugly amps in my first car. Said it was a 1600W amp, although I'm sure its output wasn't nearly that. Not like it mattered, it was definitely enough bass to rattle my car apart.

I used to run a 2x12" sub box and some cheap as hell massive amp in my first car, a Hyundai excel. Pulled the rear quarter windows out for a while one summer, and it felt pretty airy.

Army and Navy sold Jensen, Audiovox and LearJet as well. I still have bunch of pyramid stuff, it actually was decent for the price. Back in the early 90's I bought a Radio Shack 10" sub, and a friend of mine was helping build a box for it, we compared it to his Alpine sub and it was identical right down to the specs but was about 1/4 of the price.
Is anyone on here old enough to remember the car audio guys at the old crossroads flea market? Now that stuff was pure junk...Everything I bought there died a quick death.. I can't remember the brand they had.

There were a lot of bad actors in the car audio world, the oem stock stuff got so good, a lot of them disappeared.
There was one prolific installer that would charge extra to hide the components, then a week later the same car would be broken into and stripped of its hidden parts.

Holy shit, I totally remember this guy from SoundsAround on McLeod!!

Every-time I bought car audio stuff from that place it was like an event and I was the star, haha. That guy was awesome, I loved getting stuff from him!

What a blast down memory lane, I don't think I'd ever even think of this again if it wasn't for this thread

Oh man, I miss how he referred to himself as a "Tacky Paki" lol. But no shit many years ago I was talking to some executive at Soundsaround and he said Feros sold more car audio than every other sales employee, selling not car audio, combined. He was fucking fantastic at his job and yea when OEM stock car audio got real good no wonder Soundsaround went out of business.

I wonder if he still has spinners on that accord?

Hahaha holy crap yea I remember feroz too. Went to buy a sub and he tried to up sell me, showed me his accord and seemed disappointed when I went for the cheap flyer item sub. Jokes on me I guess the sub blew up after 3 months or so
