Pretty new to the topic but wondering if anyone has experience modifying boats. I’m looking at doing a small project boat and am unsure where to start in terms of understanding the legalities behind modifying a pleasure craft. The boat will strictly be used for pleasure which from what I see seems to remove a lot of processes but the modifications would be extensive- specifically modifying the hull and modifying the drive method.
Anyone gone down this road and can give me suggestions or hints of how to make sense of the legalities. I’m sure as I get further specifics will become apparent but the construction standards for small vessel doc is a bit hazy upon initial glance.
