Car looks really good man. It felt awesome washing my car at home earlier this week too... Then I spent a good 6 hours waxing it, it was well worth the time, and freezing my ass off.

Good looking car dude... especially for stock. You should think about putting some kind of gloss treatment on those tires... looking a little brownish. lol

Haha, that stuff is awesome, it also makes the water and stuff bead off the tires. And I don't know what it is, but all meguiars car care products smell SOOOOOO good!

"Is your TDI chipped?"

What sort of gains can be had by adding an aftermarket chip?
Are there a varieties of types of chips?
What is the cost?
Are there any drawbacks that may affect reliability, driveability or economy?
From anyone's experiences, has the repair incidence record of the TDI been any better than the regular Jetta's?

I am not too familiar with the technicalities of the upsolute chip on a TDi as I am not really interested in the mod...but I'll try to answer the questions as best as possible (bart would be the person to ask regarding TDi's and chipping...)

- gains: tons of power :D :burnout: not sure of exact numbers (I believe its like 200+lbs.ft)
- types: upsolute is the main company that makes them, chip is soldered on
- cost: ~$450 I think...
- drawbacks: possible turbo damage etc....fuel economy stays reliatively the same I think...

Looks great, man. I did a big spring cleaning of mine on Sunday...although my mats are in a disgraceful state.

Supposidly, if you chip the TDI, cuz my bro looked into it for his, you will be able to beat a 1.8 turbo
but that could just be a rumor

I'm still keepin the rubber winter mats on top :D I want to minimize the amount of work I have to do to keep the carpet and stuff clean in the car (I hate the carpetting in these cars....its as if it was purposely designed to be hard to clean durt/dust from) Rubber mats will come off once july comes around when I definatley know it won't snow again :D

How fast are those TDI's compared to the 1.8T?

Nice pics btw:) I gotta vaccum my car inside today lol, i washed her yesterday at werk and didnt have time to vaccum.

Stock to stock a TDI is a yawner....the 1.8T will bend it over..

Chipped though the TDI stomps the torque of the 1.8T...

Nice pix Nis...you is teh Cle4nz0r5 K1n6!!1

I'm not sure that even a chipped TDI can out perform a 1.8T. Sure it's got more torque and when chipped it is pretty quick, but in my experiences I've never been outgunned by a chipped TDI. Close though.

And when you get into chipped 1.8T's there's no comparison.

Well whats so bad about the TDI? Heavy? Or just not enough power?
