So truck got backed into last night, guy was good about it and no issues there. Complication is that it happened in Telkwa BC, and I get to drive it back to AB today and tomorrow.. BC doesn’t do anything like the inspection sticker or anything saying it’s good to be on the road like AB... so do I have to report it again when I’m back in province? Also, TD’s ‘24 hour claim service’ is mighty suspsicious when you’re on hold for an hour and they pick up exactly at 9:00 am

If it's over the date limit I'd still want to give a statement to the local PD and get a copy of it. Don't think CPS will want to deal with it.

Ya gave the statement. Don’t I need the sticker before a body shop will even look at it?

That's a good question actually since they probably will require one (assuming over $2k damage of course). However (and I am guessing here) if you got a case number in BC I would first try a CPS or RCMP station. Then see if they'd give you a sticker based on that. It isn't like you can file a report here for it.....

That's a good one. Update what you get told. Curious how this would work.

Why not give the CPS non emergency line a call and ask them the protocol on this so you have a definitive answer?

CPS won't care because it didnt happen in this city or province. just bring your statement with you.

Had a similar incident happen in Revelstoke a few years ago. RCMP sent me on my marry way as they were just too busy to care or take a statement. CPS wouldn't issue the sticker as it happened in RCMP jurisdiction, and referred me to contact them.

Ended up having to go to the nearest RCMP detachment (Cochrane), and they issued the sticker. If you have time, stop at the first RCMP detachment you come across after getting back to AB. Should be in and out in under 30.

All the RCMP offices shut, so figured give CPS a go. They didn’t have a problem giving me the inspection thing
