Anyone into ASMR videos? Another user mentioned these, so I checked it out. I don't think I get the whole "tingle" reaction, but I do find some of them relaxing anyway.

Seems like this is a pretty big subculture. Who's into this? Thoughts?

Im into it in a major way. I listen to it, earbuds in, every night when I'm in camp up north trying to get to sleep. It's awesome. Been listening to it for years now.

Plus there is some serious hotties that do it. Hot women, relaxing, whats not to like? haha

ASMR is real, I use to experience it in a major way. Found it by accident one day.

When I would drive, and the windows would be rolled down just enough with the right temperature wind I’d get major ASMR. Full on brain, neck tingling and vibrations. It was very surreal. I could move fine, think straight, but my brain didn’t want me to move my head of the back of my neck. Once I turned or shoulder checked or something, it vanished.

Some music tiggers it too, mostly folk metal with celtic type sounds and raspy vocals.

To a lesser degree during haircuts, or having my head scratched etc can trigger it mildly.

There's no explanation of what that acronym is and I'm legitimately concerned that it might be Anal Sex Man Rape... So... I'm not searching.

Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response

I’ve had that before from listening to a wicked good song at the right time or some shit, but just by people whispering shit to me? Weird.

I've heard that some ladies like to be whispered to, or to be more precise - they like to be "purred" too. There is no doubt a very pleasing sound that cats make that many find unusually appealing. Many cultures revered cats as gods. (just finished love death + robots)

That men are finally opening up and saying that they find some sounds appealing is not strange.

Cadillac revealed its first-ever CT5 sedan with a social media campaign designed to stimulate the senses using autonomous sensory meridian response, also known as ASMR.

https://www.netcarshow.com/Cadillac-CT5-2020-ig.jpg

CT5 showcases Cadillac's unique expertise in crafting American performance sedans, with details designed to elevate every drive. Built on an evolution of Cadillac's award-wining RWD/AWD Alpha architecture, the Cadillac CT5 features a standard 2.0L Turbo and available 3.0L Twin-Turbo engine with unique sound calibrations, each paired to a standard 10-speed automatic transmission offering nearly imperceptible shifts.

The driver-centric cockpit inside the Cadillac CT5 blends high tech and high touch for an exceptional blend of control tactility. The new sedan will be offered in Luxury and Sport models, giving customers more choices in appearance and ride character.

The Cadillac CT5 will be built at GM's Lansing Grand River facility, which received an investment of $211 million to build the next-generation Cadillac sedan.

I was like WTF is ASMR then I saw this thread.

Side note, that's the ugliest GM product I have seen in ages.

That does look hideous. It looks like a slightly stretched 1st gen Infiniti G35, only worse. Cadillac styling has always been pretty awful though IMO. Everything looks like an afterthought.

As for ASMR it is way too weird for me but judging by most of the hosts, people aren't in it for the sounds haha.

As for ASMR it is way too weird for me but judging by most of the hosts, people aren't in it for the sounds haha. Definitely an element of that, as the most successful ASMR performers are good looking ladies. Some are overtly sexual, but TBH, that's not my bag. Watched a few with Gina Carla, but just couldn't get into it.

I don't get the ASMR "tingle" response, but I do find them pretty relaxing, kind of like a guided mediation concept. It's something for your brain to focus on so it can't focus on other things, which is nice. For me, that's what those shoeshine videos do. I don't know if anyone gets tinges from those, but I find them satisfying and relaxing. A little brain reset if I'm having a stressful day.

Have never watched any with kids are performers. I think the point of those is that they are for kids to watch. At lest I hope so. I get enough children making weird noises in my real life, so I don't think watching that would be any kind of "escape" for me. Lol.

I've been finding these videos rather relaxing as well... there's tons out there with much bigger shredders eating up cars and truckloads of tires all at once, this shit makes me zone right out.

I've only seen a few, but I guess there are dozens of different types.

There is a pretty good podcast about ASMR on "Stuff you should know" if you're interested in something like that. That's mostly how I learned about it anyway, after seeing it on YouTube and Twitch and wondering WTF it was haha.

As a guy who has been into ASMR for quite sometime, yah, some of the female creators are rock star hotties - some of them do videos with extreme sexual innuendo geared straight towards men. but women listen to them because ASMR. I remember Angelique ASMR left a dildo out on the dresser behind her in one video, she filmed the entire thing, published it to YouTube and immediately got comments about the dildo in the background. lol. She then deleted the video, remade it without the dildo, and published it. She's not shy tho, here she is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kna6PHUNLL0&t=974s pulling out one of those hardcore vibrators that can probably strip the paint off an F350. (Skip to 25:17 for the good bits.)

^These are probably the best creators for ASMR. There are tons of others.

ASMR Glow, ASMR Darling are also pretty good.

ASMR Amy has the biggest rack on planet Earth. hahaha
There was also a pornstar that was told to give ASMR a try on youtube and she actually did a good job. I can't remember her name or find her videos tho.

What. The fuck. Is this shit?

I tried to check out some of these videos you're mentioning, and all I hear is the girl's lips smucking about, and it sounds like she's just chewing with her mouth open.

Not my thing, I guess.

Haha, the only one I can't make it thru is ASMR Gina Carla. She pretty much only does lip smacking. Drive's me crazy, but she did start that one video wearing next to nothing which was exciting hahaha.

I don't watch youtube videos of asmr, but I have a pet rabbit and like watching her crunch crunch cronch and nom nom nom her way through veggies. Also visual satisfaction of watching long veggies disappear into the fuzzy little fuck. It's like a little wood chipper you can pet.

It's because her terrible vocal performances are essentially ASMR.

There - I said it. #2019

Tough to say.

It’s definitely a feeling of euphoria and tingling. Whether it’s localized or not, usually almost full body.
