I honestly was just thinking the other day how locking lug nuts on stock wheels are ago stupid, because “who’s gonna steal stock rims?”

OEM might be worth more than aftermarket lol.

Or if your own truck has bald tires, another set of unassuming stock wheels with good tires is the perfect score.

Sorry to hear. I had someone try to make off with some OEM GM wheels with decent tires off one of my work trucks two years ago from a parking lot in the north centre area of Calgary. Clearly they are worth something to someone enough to try and steal them.

I was wondering the other day how having OEM lock nuts would help because thieves who have the correct ones for whichever set they wanted to steal.

Giving them too much credit?

It's always interesting to me how these thieves have the 'courtesy' to leave the rotor on a tire or a block of wood so it doesn't get completely destroyed, unless that is simply a product of something that makes the theft easier.

Also I don't think the locking lug nut makes any difference, they are so easy to get a hold of that I imagine most criminals in this line of work have them.

What a crappy thing to discover though - sorry OP :thumbsdow

It's probably so they can get their jacks back out....

It's totally to get their jack out so they vehicle doesn't fall on them or make unnecessary noise when it happens. They don't give a shit about your car being damaged lol.

Ah, that makes sense. So it is just something they need to do anyway....figures.
