Planning a trip there in the fall for 3 weeks. Wonder if there are any tips, must see/eat, tourist traps to avoid etc.

Portugal seems simple, everything is hrs away from Lisbon. Madrid and Barcelona would be the other destinations.

Did a week in Portugal in early October. Spent a couple days in Porto and then the remainder down in Lagos.

Didn't go to Lisbon as people I knew who went said to skip it if we had a limited amount of time there.

Porto was really cool for a couple days. Did some port tasting and toured the City. Lagos and the Algarve coast was pretty awesome. Hot, surfing, beach. Good times.

Rented a car while in Lagos. Easy enough to drive around. Definitely recommend renting a car as getting to beaches and other sites its needed.
