So I thought I was having device issues...

Apparently it's global and it's been going on for hours?

This is like Amazon crashing for hours - unheard of!!!

Work will be accomplished today - a day that shall live in infamy!

no issues on desktop - other than Messenger being slow/non responsive

Interesting as GMAIL / GOOGLE had global issues recently as well.

I noticed some of my comments wouldn't post. Wasn't sure what was up.

Could be an Amazon issue... don’t they host like 80% of the Internet?

FB and their properties do not run on AWS. Instagram used to but FB migrated them off after the acquisition to their own servers.

No problems with AWS today. We get early alerts of impeding failure to prepare so we can hoard and lock down resources before the public knows about it.

I've got an Amazon order that doesn't show in my orders, hasn't posted to bank, but I have the confirmation email and when I called and asked they said they were doing security updates? Dunno I'm new to Amazon but in 2˝ months of almost daily orders I've never seen this before

Okay so I am not the only one having issues today with Instagram. Glad to hear. I've restarted my router three times thinking it was the wifi. I don't go on FB much but I can hear my wife having a bird over it being shitty downstairs

So any word on what actually happened? Kind of odd to only affect all the leftist platforms (Google, Facebook).

It was just Facebook and it’s properties going down. Wasn’t aware of anything else.

The one conspiracy I heard is that FB was wiping data to avoid getting nailed for more privacy breaches.

It's really quite amazing how these two social media platforms have wormed their ways into people's lives so tightly to the point that they're calling the police or resetting equipment when they have problems accessing these sites. I would suspect that these people could never really take an 'off the grid' kind of vacation.

Yeah I thought it was funny myself.

Looks like their outage yesterday is affecting their stock price today.

GMAIL / GDRIVE was down for many as well.

I do find it interesting that no one higher up is talking about this - in terms of the back end.

That was 2 days ago. Nobody talked about it because it was well outside office hours except for APAC.
