Any Raptor owners on here?

I've heard many pros/con's to the Gen 2's, though kinda dead set on a Raptor.

Looking for a pickup truck, and have driven/looked into a F150 Limited, Raptor and Tundra TRD Pro none compare to the Raptor. Mind is set.

Does anyone have any advice for getting a decent price or what to look out for on these trucks?

New or used? As long as you are aware how wide they are and can live with that, it's a really cool truck.
This seems like the only place I'll be able to use this pic too:

Are both yours???
Looking new or very lightly used (ie. 20k or less'ish).

I mean I drove the limited, almost pulled the plug, though the 19's interior (albeit raptor engine) is 200% not my style.... Looks like a king ranch.
Was such a fun drive even compared to my RS.
Would consider trading in even... If the price was right.

Nah, neither is mine. This is near my in-laws house. A raptor wouldn't suit my needs at all.

I really want a raptor 6.2 one day. But I’m pretty well certain none are left this side of Ontario that aren’t beat completely to shit.

I want one too, but like any "specialty" vehicle, they are all going to be abused to some extent by their first owners. I am kinda waiting for one to show up used somewhere at a good price to pull the trigger on. They are just priced way too high new.

I've shopped for the Gen 1 - loved it but it wouldn't fit in underground parking (Gen 1's are 6'9 tall if I remember). My biggest issue when shopping the Gen 2 is that I can get a loaded F250/3500HD for a better price. And for my needs, the HD capability wins

:werd:

Though honestly, I'd be happy with just a regular F-150 that has the Raptor front end.

This would be one of the last vehicles on earth I would buy used haha, especially in Alberta.

No one is buying a raptor for practicality or capabilities.

You buy a raptor because awesome.

Things like “fitting” or “towing” are irrelevant. Haha

I wonder how many of the used Gen1 raptors in Alberta have the bent frames (between the box and cab). I had a friend in GP that bent his frame from off roading it, truck was a year old. He traded it in not long after.

Agreed - lifestyle vehicle that works great as a daily driver. One of the most underrated qualities of a Raptor is how nice it rides.

I'd rather burn my truck to the ground than have anything to deal with Hennessey.

I remember reading about those issues. I also vaguely remember someone trying to sue Ford because they tried to drive it like Ford does in all the commercials and wrecked it because as it turns out it's not built nearly well enough for that

Great deal for your friend if they didn't notice the frame on trade-in.

hahahah yeah this!

This seems to be the new jeep thing also, going 6x6? Good god, "bro".

Is bent frames a big concern with these trucks? Never heard this before... Or just from guys hoon'ing around in them?

Ford like to show pictures of raptors in the air. Customers decide they can jump their raptors.

Raptors really aren’t capable of being jumped. Therefore bent frames.

A Ranger Raptor would be perfect. Too bad we don't get it here.

No, the point of the raptor is to be stupid and ridiculous.

Using it as a trim package on a ranger with a 4 cylinder engine ruins it.

The raptor is very useable though, including as a truck doing truck things (hauling and towing).

Rangers are already useless (not including the new one which just came out, I dont know about those) and would be even more useless raptor-ized.

Would be amazing as a toy, dont get me wrong. I'm probably going to buy a class 7s ranger for baja/mexican 1000 this year from California.

The new ones are about the same amount of truck as the 10th gen F-150, only slightly smaller.

People bought 4cyl and V6 Mustangs, I wouldn't be surprised if Ford bastardized the Raptor too.

Wanted one really bad, ended up buying a used Duramax for 1/4 the price and haven’t worried about it since.

Still cool trucks and I love the look and equipment.

Almost bought one. After some reconsidering I couldn’t justify the almost 100k price tag on it and atrocious interest rate for it being a “specialty vehicle”. 5%-6% interest on a new vehicle is just stupid.

Colorado is a better truck than I thought it would be. Not a good comparison with the raptor, even the zr2 version, aside from also looking awesome.

Raptor is incredibly practical for certain uses. Knew a field guy who had one as his daily driver. That thing is great for gravel roads.

Have also heard good things about the ride quality of the raptor on lease roads from our field contractors.

I did not find towing with a Raptor (Gen1) very fun. It didn't like having a 6K Wakeboard boat behind it. I think if you were occasionally hauling a dirtbike etc it's the best truck out there. But dollar to dollar I like the HD's for everything but offroad

I think it’s more of a capable of towing in a pinch than a dedicated tow vehicle.
