May long weekend. We always seem to get our last winter storm that weekend. Last year was the first time in a long time we didn't get it.

I’ll be in BC for May long weekend, so won’t need to worry about that. Just hoping we don’t get some crazy dump that stays on the ground now.

I have an SUV with all-seasons just in case, but was just curious if anyone else was making the change sooner then later?

I risked it after the 10-14 day forecast improved dramatically, and put my all seasons on. We had the wheel change assembly line going on at my parents' place so I had to get in on that - can get a car swapped over in about ~15 mins.

Nah, ignore all the advice in this thread. Put your summers on now- you won't regret it.

Most of my vehicles have summers on now. Will probably just keep my winters on the truck all year since I won’t be driving it much until hunting season anyways.

Been driving on my true summers for 2 weeks now, and has been more than fine.

I always have the option to just drive my Jeep day to day though.

And we always get a dump in September yet nobody is popping their winters on in late Aug. Unless you're gonna run winters all year long you're gambling on a sneak attack snowfall at some point. I'm pulling the trigger this weekend.

No, I'm not Inrich.

Big difference between summers and all seasons.... all seasons are perfectly fine. And if you keep winters on instead of all seasons your money is literally melting away. Sure it'll snow again but it won't stick enough to justify the need of winters....if you have summers on though you are paying with fire.

Already took the convertible (with summers) out last week and been driving it almost every day. Perfectly fine :)

Pretty big difference. I can take an hour one evening if snow is in the forecast to get my winters on, they're going to be on for the next 6 months after that point anyway. I'm sure as hell not going waste time swapping on summers, knowing full well I will very likely have to swap winters back on for a few days just to leave my garage, and then go right back to summers again.

I took my winters off and put on new Duratracs last week myself. I am not worried about one or two temporary dumps of snow with these tires. I would hold off if all I had were summer tires though.

There was a mobile guy who shut down his business last year. I looked at it buying it but didn’t want to deal with hiring and training tire techs. I’m sure somebody else picked it up and is running it.

It's still cold in the morning. I'll wait till when the day time high hits high teens. The forecast day time high for the next two weeks is hovering around low teens still. Probably another two weeks or more for me.

I have had more issues with gravel than temps on my commute.

No way I am going to give up precious days with the summer car because it’s a bit chilly in the morning lol.

Subaru is staying on winters and M5 staying in the garage for another month.

I’ve completely cooked my rear winters... dunno what’s better at this point. Have to grab the impact from the other house before I can do anything though, so that could be a while

No, I'm not Inrich.

I used Tire Doctors beginning last week. They were good, no issues, about $100 for the swap. Had my winter set on for 6 months so was just itching to get them off. My summer rims are mounted with A/S so I'm not too fussy in waiting till temps are consistently warm.

Gravel is going to pit your wheels, especially with machined lips or edges and staggered offsets.

Surprise potholes are also not fun.

I'd wait at least until the streets are swept up and potholes filled in.

My theory has always been that people who can actually afford their cars drive them every chance you can get. Guy in my parkade drives his Ferrari 365 days a year. Props.

The guy who just drives his Ferrari 4 miles to the club to park outside being seen getting out of it and otherwise leaves it in a hermetically sealed box? Yea he can’t actually afford it and is just trying to make the TCO work out by minimizing depreciation.

I’m pretty precious with my cars, but not driving in weather like it has been the last couple weeks just seems silly to me.

Just my $0.02.

Thats how it always is, best to stop by, he's honestly incredibly hard to get a hold of. In the off season, like after this big surge, its a different story, but during peak seasons? its best to stop in. Also? PM him on here
