Sort of, but I lost my sheet. So I had to make up some numbers. And I fucked up my very first measurement.

Here are mine

Stick Length is 30cm.

Feb 27. Sunrise: 7:25am Sunset: 6:12pm
Measurement: 29cm Taken at 11:00am.

I have no idea why but the measurement for Feb 27 is REALLY off

Mar 9. If someone can find the sunrise-sunset times for that day it would be great
Measurement: 37cm Taken at 11:37am.

Mar 20. Sunrise: 6:37am Sunset: 6:50pm
Measurement: 35cm Taken at 11:30am

Mar 27. Sunrise: 6:21am Sunset 7:01pm
Measurement: 34cm Taken at 11:50am

Apr 3. Sunrise: 6:06am Sunset: 7:13pm
Measurement: 32cm Taken at :11:45am

Questions 4a and 4b are kinda confusing though.

How would I be able to tell from my observations when spring equniox will be? I assume I just look at the measurements slowly decreasing over time, meaning spring is coming soon. And I figure daylight savings time means something good for spring.

4b is worse. I have no idea how to do that.

Feb06: Stick =1.21 m, shadow=2.06m, declination angle of -14.4, Sunrise=803AM, sunset=538pm

Feb18th: stick=1.21m, shadow=1.98m declinatin angle= -11.68, sunrise=741AM, sunset=600pm

feb28th:Stick=1.21m, shadow=2.10m angle = -9.42, sunrise=723AM, sunset=615

I think i fucked upt he last one though, those are the feb ones i have
sorry for the last minute post though!

ok for 4a, you know that a spring equinox means that day and night have equal time(day is 12 hours, night is 12 hours) so from your data i guess you just have to guess ~ when that would be, i havent graphed my stuff yet so i dont know what the graphs look like. For 4b, im pretty sure the higest declination the sun could reach is 90, b/c in the summer @ noon the sun is basically right overhead of you...from the numbers i gathered it looks like its follwing that trend so im goin ahead with that
Hope that helped

Why are his assigment questions so goddamn hard?

Anyone else notice that the book doesn't directly answer the questions on assignment?
