I hear that the general concensus is no it’s a bad idea unless the mods are pretty basic, properly done, and are well documented. I was eyeing this modded Maxima as a replacement for my daily driver, but I think I’ll pass on it. Listed mods sound pretty nice on paper, but I wonder how reliable the car is... Also, I’m not a huge fan of lowered cars and ones that sound like motorcycles. What do you guys think? Dodged a bullet?

I wouldnt say it's highly modified, it doesnt have FI or anything. But the way hes ziptied the AF gauge would make me want to look a little harder at other things. It would probably be a fun car.

Thats actually tastefully done over all. Looks like they've probably just upgraded when parts wore out (eg shocks and springs).

The fact thats its in Tuscany over fucking Taradale or Marlborough, is also a HUGE plus. The 'modded' vehicles I have seen in the NE , esp in that price range, is scary.

Has the typical back wheel arch rust.
His mods are not necessary and not worth it. Car is worth probably $2K.
The air filter probably damaged the air sensor with oil.
There's a few Maxima's at pick n pull currently to change things back to stock.

Edit: Also if you consider this highly modified, I think you should stay away from the car.

I hear ya. Just sounded like a pretty cool list of mods. I have no experience modding cars so it’s probably best I steer clear. BTW I think the AEM dryflow filter isn’t oiled so no concern there? I had an old K&N oiled one I used to use in a Mazda. That car went over 400,000 clicks so it didn’t seem to cause any problems.
