I'm going to guess that insurance is not writing that off, especially if you have depreciation insurance. I hope for your sake I am wrong though since I don't think that's a lease.

I think depreciation insurance also makes them use OEM parts soooo the bill is gonna $48,484.

If there is/isnt that one or two part/process that is uber tough to find and/or stupid expensive - it could easily double everything.

This could mean working with high strength Aluminum parts or some insane paint scheme matching.

25k USD if there isnt, 55k USD is there is.

Congrats! Now you can get into that 911 that you wanted to in the first place haha. Much more fitting for Silicon Valley.

Congrats!

I didn't include the 6 page itemized report as it has my personal info plastered all over it, but here is the summary.

Damn, that summary looks fully loaded.

Isn't that higher than the price of the new Macan if that number is in USD? I suppose perhaps not higher than the price of the GTS but the S is definitely around there.

PS: from the pics, i "think" that's written off, pretty certain there's frame damage as well from that impact on the rear lower beam. You can also kind of tell the rear door doesnt align with the front anymore. Hope i am right

While i didnt participate in the poll, i was one of the first to believe it was written off.

BTW: congrats!

Curious how insurance has dealt with it so far? Have they written you a check for original purchase price yet?

Curious if you're going to get another Macan GTS or go for something different this time? Good opportunity to know since you had some longer term seat time in the Macan.

Last time when we met up, was talking about how he chose the Macan so he can do weekend trips to Tahoe. Wanted a 911 Turbo but thought Macan was better for that. I gave a drunk rambling speech about 911 with performance winters being the greatest winter car ever. Let's see if my marketing efforts worked.

So nice to see things work out like this. Went from possible repaired Macan w/ Altima rental to car shopping and renting 911s lol.

Hah pretty spot on! Except at the time I was still in Calgary so it was for Alberta/BC hills. My wife does a lot splitboarding in the backcountry in the winter, so her requirement was something that could easily make it through poorer maintained winter roads. Our last vehicle was an F30 328i and even with X-Ice 3s they would occasionally be a bit sketchy. I think a 911 would be fine traction wise, but risks having clearance issues in back roads after a big dump, which is when you want to get out there.
Clearly I was pretty drunk, because that's pretty far from spot on aside from 911.
