They pumped billions into contents. They forgot to pay their IT guys/infrastructure fees?

This is not the 1st streaming services to grace this earth and cloud infrastructure is plenty.

They are offering 1 week trials right now. Month to month is only 8.99, but you can take a look for nothing.

Tons of content, between national geographic, marvel, Pixar and disney, but it all depends on what you want to watch.

Man, there are way too many streaming services now. Once you get all of them, isn't that pretty much just cable again?
Netflix + VPN/torrenting it is... btw, zooqle.com is fucking amazing for torrenting. Their interface is easier to use than Netflix/Youtube/etc for finding things, and none of the links are virus baits like the early days of torrenting.

Back on topic: Mandalorian is awesome! Between this, Silicon Valley and Rick and Morty, the Friday-Sunday TV lineup is strong.

I guess it depends how deep you go down the rabbit hole. Very basic cable with few watchable channels besides local news is what $55? Adding anything worth watching like HBO makes that $75/month or more.

Disney plus, Netflix and my newsgroup subscription work out to roughly $35/month.. still a big savings. But netflix is in danger of getting the axe if prices keep going up. I think its overall a good deal but it used to be a great deal, so they have to justify the increased price.. I could probably drop 4k, but the few shows I watch it in I wouldn't want to go back to HD.

The difference is, now the streaming companies work for you instead of big biz advertising. You could get all the streaming services, pay less than cable, but actually get quality content instead of boring horseshit sitcoms.

And if you're really a cheap bastard, you can just go month to month with your subscriptions. So do Netflix one month and catch up on everything you like on their service. then do Disney+ the next month to catch everything you like on there. rinse and repeat.

True. I think most people keep cable/satellite services due to convenience. That and boomers don't know any better.

My guess based on market direction, is you're going to see these streaming services bidding on shows the same way TV stations do right now. It absolves Netflix for example, from all the production costs and unknowns of a new show. They can just pay a fixed price for like 2 and a half men or whatever that they know is already popular, and host it on their service instead of NBC hosting it.

The latest episode was really lame IMO...
Where the fuck did the AT-ST come from?!
Apparently you can just out run a 40 ton armored mech with 20' stride and 4 blasters.
Drivers of the AT didnt just blast everything to bits at the fight scene.
Somehow Mando forget the kid was being tracked?
40 some years of being a Mando and suddenly he has a soft spot for a native chick?
Leaves the planet with no plot or cool Jedi force tricks.

Mando IS Clint Eastwood's man with no name. We knew this last episode was coming. It's "The Magnificent Seven" or "Seven Samurai" if you want to go a bit further back. Prior to that we've seen chunks of "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly", "Fistful of Dollars" etc. Every Mandalorian episode is a classic western trope dressed up in Star Wars clothing. I love it, but there's nothing original in these stories. There will be a quick draw showdown and a Mexican standoff coming soon for sure.

The battle scene while cool, the trap should have been set in forest.

And as much as they win that small battle, the enemy seems to be a more fierce army and have resource to acquire AT-ST, they will eventually get wiped out.

The plot is fine for a kids focus episode of Rebels, didn't really stand for adults.

Forget setting a trap at all. The only thing required to stop an AT is to kill the driver/pilot. Climb on top, lean over the front and blast him. Or better yet, just go high jack it in the middle of the night and then blow it up. Why on Endor anyone would ever choose to fight one head on if they don't have to is beyond comprehension.

Oh well, jus trying to enjoy it for what it is.

The DarkSaber - I wonder how they'll spin the story of how Gideon ended up with it, after Sabine Wren gave it away in SW Rebels. I'm pretty sure Gideon is a former ISB agent for the Emperor, not a Sith, but we'll see. Great ending for sure, that scene, I was thinking "what a powerful torch he's got going there" until the blade stuck out, and my nephew and niece started freaking out (big SW Rebels fans). They did a great job with this season 1 of Mandalorian, they should fire everyone involved in producing SW and put Dave Filoni and John Favreau in charge of overseeing all the new films/tv. The Mandalorian has been the only good thing since Rogue One IMO, TLJ, Rise of Skywalker, Solo, have all sucked, or at least weren't very good. The Mandalorian shows the potential of what SW can be.

I think season 2 will have a lot of Jedi content, they've sure set themselves up for that at least, it'll be interesting to see how the Jedi are woven into what they've built so far.

Marvel is fun and all, but it's just kids cartoons. Star Wars is essentially world-building. Solo was amazing, but Kathleen Kennedy nearly fucked that up too- only saved by Tony Gilroy.

Agreed. KK and her agenda driven stories (Round headed Rian too) really fucked things up with TJL, and put JJ Abrams in a box for episode 9. I actually didn't mind TFA, and thought it could have been a decent spring board, but alas, it didn't happen. The MCU is in danger of going down that path too IMO, Feige has made some pretty obvious squawks about pushing things further towards the SJW/agenda driven ideals in future films. I'm hoping I'm reading too much into that, as all the flap before Capt Marvel turned out to be mostly - mostly - overhyped regarding that, but the danger is there. And I'd hate to see the MCU go down the path the last couple/few films have with Star Wars.

It was funny watching the SJW/critics heads explode with rage when there wasn't "enough" "STRONG FEMALE CHARACTERS" in the first few episodes of the Mandalorian, they were going absolutely berserk. Similar result with "The Witcher" recently too, what with Cavill siding with fans and against critics in interviews recently, and then the "STRONG FEMALE CHARACTER" getting destroyed in a sword fight in the first episode of Witcher. How dare they make something showing stronger, faster, larger, and more experienced males in combat beating the "STRONG FEMALE CHARACTER". How dare they...

haha. there really isnt much else on there, is there?

there will be no big flagship original programs until late 2020. Disney have those cheap 1 and 3 year plans (some even with Ratuken discounts) for a reason.

I was a big fan of the opening stormtrooper scene with the speeder bikes

That scene was probably my favorite part of the episode, which is saying a lot considering how good the ep was.

It had a very old school Red vs Blue feel. Total Sarge and Grif moment.
