The front looks weird but the side profile and the back is sexy!
A bit soft in the design language compare to G wagon.

Sweet. Agree it’s softer than I would prefer but love the capability at least as stated.

These will be all over Calgary picking kids up from private schools in no time.

Is it just me or did the original defender seem to have a longer wheelbase?

SWB tends to detract from looks

Hmm don't think I like it. Don't think it'll replace the G wagon for me.

It would be cool if it was the new Honda Element.

Glad to see such an investment from a mainstream company into a very dedicated offroad machine. I agree that it will be mostly rich people getting their nails done in it, but still...I'm glad the offroad market is getting this technology. I have a friend looking to get one...maybe I can provide a review at some point!

I love that LR actually puts true off road capability into their vehicles, despite the fact that 99% of buyers probably don't even taken it on a gravel road haha.

Looks aside, are LR a reliability nightmare?

My only experience was a '95 Discovery. I always expected it to break....but never did despite being abused off road.
That truck never let me down...and has been more reliable than the Fords, Hondas, and Toyotas I've owned since.
I may be the exception however.

That was before Ford bought them. I was talking to the service advisor at TRS a few years ago, and he said expect about $3g a year in repairs for anything built since 2000.
