Booked the first half of our Europe trip and now trying to decide the other half.

Curious to hear peoples experiences with beach destinations?

Been looking at the French Riviera & Coastal beaches in Spain.

Trying to keep travel time down, so was hoping to take a train somewhere from Paris.

Would love to hear your experiences.

Not much not to like in the Spanish Mediterranean coast. Anywhere around Valencia is pretty great. Personal favorite of mine is Gandia. Decent nightlife if that’s your thing.

That being said I can’t comment much on hotels etc, I have family there that I usually couch surf through.

I feel like all these could have been a single "plan brads vacation" thread. What are we at now, four threads for a single trip?

If anyone's able to recommend a particularly expensive beach, that would probably be useful here.

Is La Concha in San Sebastián nice? Have you been there?

Travelling with two kids. Restaurants and beaches are our main interest.

Can’t comment specifically. But that’s pretty far north, so I would expect it to be a lot cooler than Valencia.

Mediterranean will have much better temps in general, I worry about being exposed to the Atlantic there.

I spend a lot of time in La Coruna on the Atlantic side, and it’s pretty warm in the summer but you get reminded that it’s essentially straight across the ocean from Halifax pretty quick once you get in the water haha.

Ok good to know. Our stay would be from Aug 8-16, middle of summer.

Probably pretty safe then. That time of year also coincides with a lot of festivals in Spain which can cut both ways. Lots of cool things to see, but getting services can be more challenging.

Work ethic in Spain is not like North America, not uncommon for half the country to be on vacation in August haha.

It's what happens when you think Beyond is a messaging app.

Although maybe I should shut my mouth. I do start a hell of a lot of threads, and they aren't all as awesome as the furnace filter thread.

Nice is booked.

Ended up booking this place. Not the ideal location but really wanted a view.
