Vehicle scales, publicly available ones are somewhat scarce but I stumbled upon one near The Cedar Shop's new location.

Might be a bit more convenient for some people, my beast weight 2,845kg without most of my tools.

I'm still partial to going to the truck stops and paying real money for the CAT scale.

i wouldn't mind that but always feel way too rushed, but luckily a family member has a portable stock car setup scale system so i can just use that on the driveway and take my time.

Well, you don't have time to make changes ON the scale, you take one weight, drive off and make changes, take another weight etc. It's not quick, but it works.

I usually weigh my stuff on the highway pull out scales but it’s not always possible. Sadly didn’t get to weigh on the last two heavy trips.

What did it cost to weigh?

The one on Highway 2A Southbound just before 242 Ave West is surprisingly accurate, my car on there weighed in at 1650kg's which is equal to 3638lbs and then I put it on corner scales after an event and low and behold it also weighed in at 3638lbs. Both times with 1/8 tank of fuel

Has to be accurate, it's a truck weigh scale DOT uses to write tickets ;) the petrocanada at aldersyde one is super convenient if you're effing around a bit - it's off the highway and has a rest stop area.

You can get a mama burger there too and there's nice long spots to park your oversized travel trailer . . . .

Good to know Speeddog, about both the scales, and the Cedar Shop moving.

I'm actually surprised that that scale is still there and operating - i believe it is on land previously owned or leased by Canada Safeway inch has now been opened up and sublet, thus The Cedar Shop being there located on the southern portion of those lands. The scale really has no reason to exist any more and as such, it's maintenance will probably be an issue in the not too distant future as I highly doubt the land owner has a reason to do such.

There's one on the side of Hwy-2 South right before Dunbow Road on the way to DeWinton & Okotoks. I think it's one axle at a time, but whatever.
