Live on a top floor condo with my balcony being open and no roof above it. Last while I've been having serious issues with asshole pigeons constantly shitting on my deck all over the place.

What is a solution? I'd love to just camp out with a BB gun and kill them but I'm sure that's not allowed. Anything I can buy to prevent these things from coming this way?

Things you can try:

Pigeon spikes / string
Ultrasonic sound deterrents
Owl/bird of prey decoy

There's a lot of great options here: https://www.google.com/search?q=squab+recipies

I live in the same set up. Fucking pigeons man. Both of these didn't work for us.

My GF used to spray these fucks with vinegar when they'd land on our balcony haha but we put a patterned mat type thing down and they stopped coming for some reason.

Since then we got a dog and removed the mat thing and sometimes the dog chills on the balcony.. haven't had a pigeon issue since the mat and dog.

I've heard those sound frequency machines don't work on those dumb birds. Honestly I'd love nothing more than to grab my BB gun and just shoot them. However I could definitely see the Tac team being called out by some concerned neighbour due to my location and visibility from the field people use beside me haha so can't do that.

The pigeon spikes are a little tough since it's an angled roof and I don't think I can particularly toss them anywhere effective. With any luck hopefully the dip in weather will have them fuck off.

Honestly try getting a patterned mat.. somehow they fucked right off after we put it down

My wife used cayenne pepper on her deck at an old apartment and it worked, I'd go straight to the Dave's Insanity sauce wherever they perch so their great great grand baby birdies still feel the burn

If you're gonna do something, might as well do it right ;) :

(1200fps vs 495fps for $30 more)

FYI any airgun over 500fps is considered a Firearm in Canada. You need to be really careful to stay under that limit and you'll notice lots of brands advertising 495fps for this reason.

If you get caught shooting an air gun in the city you are going to be in a ton of shit anyways. Go big or go home.

That’s higher than most .22 LR rounds.

You have to be close for these to even work on flys... and barely make a red mark on human skin.

A 200+ fps nerf dart has enough mass to deter :)

Not sure I understand why you'd need to be careful about this? As long as you have a PAL, buy the better one.

Like killramos said, no one should be shooting these in the city anyways. Anyone that has the PAL req'd to buy the high velocity one should know that.
