I would have liked to see what a base C8 would have done as the price would have been a lot lower than the 3LT Z51 package.
Also, comparing the GT500 carbon fiber track pack seems unfair as a base Z06 I assume would be lower in price than $94k USD.

The reviews of the new GT500 have been better than I anticipated but I am still less than impressed. Putting the Vette on the same tire that the Carbon Fiber Track package comes with would likely bring the time differential to within 1 second again. You can't even compare a PS4S to a Sport Cup 2; apples and oranges with one being a good street tire with and the other a R compound. Also it wasn't 5 seconds, it was 4.66 which I am betting is all almost all tire.

Once we tried the GT500 equipped with the Carbon Fiber Track package, however, it was all over for the street 'Vette. The CFTP Shelby is magic on the racetrack, wearing R-compound Sport Cup 2s, carbon wheels, lower and firmer springs/bars/shocks, a proper wing and hell-yes-they-work aero fitments, and much more. Fire it up, and the Shelby is long gone in a blaze of glory.

Tires are likely 2.5 seconds. You should have highlighted the rest of that statement.

The base model beat the Vette by over a second. I bet the corvette with cup2 would still be 2-3 seconds behind.

I think the gap between the base GT500 and Vette was made up on the straights exclusively. I would guess the tires are worth more than 2.5 and even closer to 3, again good street tire versus a R comp. It would be neat to see a sector by sector breakdown of all 3 cars. The fact that the could get such a heavy pig to perform so well is impressive. I would rather still have a GT350R.

It's more impressive to me that a N/A 6cyl with ~240 less HP and a lot less torque can post the same time as the Mustang with a gigantic supercharged V8.

These are hand painted stripes by Penske. They’re EXTREMELY rare, and 9/10 chances this car will sit in a collectors Garage for years.

To have the painted stripes and carbon fibre track package - Ford Executives labeled it as the “golden ticket”. They knew dealers would instantly pocket an additional 30k per car with markups.

Yup, what Darkane said. I had to do a double take and confirm with my sales guy that it was literally $12K for a white painted stripe, those carbon wheels look ridiculously awesome though.
