How many cups of joe you drink on a typical day?

3 most days, or 4. Don't find my sleep is messed up.

Coffee in the morning, usually a latte in the afternoon or another cup of coffee.

Usually 3, almost always before lunch. I've found that as I get older though, I can drink it later in the day and it doesn't keep me from sleeping. Might be different if I had a cup of coffee after dinner, but I almost never do that.

Usually take a double k-cup around 2 pm. Gives me a nice 12 oz (2, 6 oz pours - 354 ml) kick to finish the day right.

1 black americano first thing in the morning before heading to work.

I might get one more cup or tea during the day depending on the mood.

The definition of a CUP is highly dubious.

Isnt a medium sized Starbucks something like 3 'cups' by itself? A Tims extra large double double is 6 cups? (with 1 cup sugar/cream)

I was just going to comment on something like this because it seems people say "I've had 1 cup of coffee today" but in reality its more like 2 or 3.

1 cup = 8oz.

1 Medium @ McDonalds = 16oz (2 cups)
1 large @ Starbucks = 20oz (2 and a bit)

So most people when they say "I've had 1 cup" actually have had 2 or 3 especially if you order a large.

With that said.. I drink like 2-3 cups a month.

my "cups" are probably 10oz, and they are pretty consistent because I make em myself. Ugh tims is gross unless you sweeten it, and in that case, you may as well just eat a doughnut.

I think cups is probably wrong to measure by anyways since the amount of caffeine/ml ranges quite a bit

I think the question OP is trying to ask is how much mg of caffeine we consume a day, lol.

More curious how often people visit the coffee machine/store. Everyone is going to have different mg anyway, as it changes with all the variables

I'm calling myself 3 cups, but thats one 20 oz yeti, plus 2 keurigs.

Weekends, usually sharing 2 36 oz french presses

400mL in the morning, and sometimes a cup in the afternoon but I find it really buggers my sleep until midnight when I pass out. Or I fall asleep early but sleep very poorly.

I told my GP i drank that much coffee and he got very concerned. Apparently 16-20oz is the "healthy" amount of coffee you're suppose to consume. I never had the heart to tell him how many beer i drink

Just kidding.

One or two cups of coffee.

Though I have switched back to tea. The kitchen in my new job has a kettle with free milk and cream. :nut:
I convinced a colleague today to have morning tea with me. My mini revolution to convert the company to drink tea has begun.. Muhahahahahaha:poosie:

If I am in the office, I ususally end up with 2 Large timmies coffee (black) a day.

When I work from home, usually 1, sometimes 2 large coffees from my Keurig.

My body just doesn't seem to agree with drinking more than this.

Cups as in unit of measure or a coffee cup, which is half a cup? Edit at least according to my coffee maker.

A liter of coffee for me usually.

It doesn't seem like it's that much to me though. I have co-workers that are drinking 3-4 large tims a day, plus using the coffee machine in the office for another 1-2 cups... I feel like a lightweight compared to them.

Holy. I’ve done 50oz before working 12 hour days/nights.

Not sure if my record would touch 2L, could be.

I’m down to 100mg tab in the AM, and a 10oz around 11.

If I’m bagged I’ll do two 10oz and 100mg. All I have these days.

There's no answer for "yes" on the poll.

I typically make 4-5 "cups" in the morning. AKA half a pot. That fills my contigo, and leaves 8oz leftover to put into a protein shake (with ice and almond milk).

I'll have an office cup of coffee after lunch, which is 16oz.

So total... 7 cups/day, or 56oz of coffee.

I'll take a cup of coffee with me in the morning but often I don't even drink half of it. Weekends I'm probably good for 4-6 cups.

Don't drink coffee or tea or latte's or whatever. People find it very odd, I don't know why. Just never been a fan of hot drinks and don't like the idea of being addicted to something and making it a daily habit. Wife on the other hand, don't even want to talk to her in the morning's until she's had a a cup.

I could easily go without, but find going for coffee is a good social experience. :dunno:

I'm pretty similar, thought I usually drink 2 x Large Steeped Teas from Tims throught out the day (one on way to work, one mid day to get the hell out of the office for a few) and then usually like a 10oz of Kuerig coffee in the evening and another 14oz mega cup with like 1/3 milk and honey. Has no effect on me. I got to sleep at like midnight every day, and can drink at 9-9:30 and pass out like a baby.

I did notice that I developed an addiction to it I think, big time. When I travel personally or for work, I usually don't drink coffee to keep my stomach stable, but last week in San Diego I had a massive headache the first two days there for work, and I started looking at reasons for headaches as I thought it was due to AC or whatever, and one that stood out was caffeine withdrawals. This makes so much sense now, because I have been experiencing this phenomenon of headaches and such the first few days almost every trip recently, and I had no idea wtf was going on. Funny enough, the following two days in San Diego I had coffee, and had no headaches at all! I think I will just have to suck it up and drink that stuff when travelling, much rather sit in a shitter that having a splitting headache while hyperventilating on the bed trying to stay alive.

Make a litre in the morning, drink two big mugs before leaving for work and then fill my to go cup for the drive in to work. During the day I rarely make any more coffee but clients frequently bring it in for me so I will often have another XL size or two before the work day ends. The past five years or so I rarely will have a coffee in the evening as I am finding I don’t sleep as well if I have one after 5:00pm. That is kind of new for me as I used to be able to drink coffee right up to going to bed with zero issue but not anymore.

No one can warn someone sufficiently enough about this. But then you have those lucky SOB parents who have kids that sleep no problem from day one. I hate those parents with an envious passion.

That was me and my youngest kid. First 2 nights she stayed in the hospital, night 3 she woke up once, but after that, she slept right through the night. In bed at like 8:30pm and usually didn't wake up until 9:30-10:00 am. Spoke to the doctor about it and they said that if she is not hungry and sleeps, it's fine as long as she gains weight. She did, but man, she put the weight on SO SLOWLY.

The number of cups of coffee and even the ounces of coffee is pretty useless for the purpose of comparison because there can be such a wide range of MG of caffeine per 100 ML of beverage. I guess an ideal focus would be how many MG of caffeine you consume in a day? I sit at 400 MG - 1000 MG depending on the day. Oddly when I'm on vacation though it can be 0 MG - 100 MG.
