View Full Version : How many pairs of underwear do you own?

Was going through my personal inventory yesterday and I'm undecided if I have too many or too few (~7).
Personally I feel like underwear is currently my bottleneck for when I need to do laundry.

Maybe I need to be specific and make the poll about "how many pairs of underwear do you regularly rotate through"... I don't need to know about your kinky stuff that's not worn daily, or if you do wear that daily.

I guess this can also be a discussion about what bottlenecks your laundry?

~7 seems to be pretty light...

I probably have around 20-25. I definitely wouldn't want to do laundry weekly just for underwear.

Roughly ten.

~1 1/2 dozen. How old is the your oldest pair lol

The capacity of my laundry basket is usually the trigger, not so much the supply of clean clothes.

About 2 dozen

I probably have 15. Haven't bought them in a few years, it's amazing how long they last.

I have a stay at home wife, there are no bottlenecks in my laundry.

I'm guessing ~30. I found a sale on the "My Package" underwear and bought a lot. For socks and underwear, they are cheap enough that I replace them at the first sign of wear. Costco for socks, Last Hunt for underwear.

Probably 15-20

I like to buy too much of everything so probably around 30 pairs of saxx from over the years. I am a damp dry beep guy though so my clothes last a long time and just keep piling up.

I'm at 6-10, with a couple new ones still in packaging in the closet. This doesn't included tights that I wear for gym and sports. I'm of the Marie Kondo school of thought, toss it if it doesn't "spark joy".

25 pairs of undies and about 80 pairs of socks. All are funky, comfy, awesome pairs that "spark joy". lol

~15 probably. Anytime I see a store with Saxx on clearance I usually grab whatever variety of colors they have and then retire my oldest sets.

Don't be jealous of my sock game. I switched to socks after my watch collection became obscene (and expensive). Better on the wallet.

I have about 30. Trying new stuff that feels better. I have some that are close to 20 years old though lol

I for sure have a few pairs that are past 20 years. potentially 30. But I also have a pretty big rotation. About 20 pairs.

I have 14 pairs of the exact same sock, lol. I like them like my women, extra thicc bottom.

lol fair enough. I like to have something funky/interesting to collect. Socks are functional. All the rocks/gemstones/etc. I have are not. You know how it goes.

Saxx and MyPakage are the worst. You can't turn them inside out for a second wear.

I own two pairs and I wash one of them in the kitchen sink every other night.

I have 17 pairs and 2 of those are tighty whiteys from when i had a vasectomy. Those are my reserve when there's no boxer briefs left.

So with Saxx/Pakage/etc we are getting more premium options for boxers and they're definitely more comfy than cheapo walmart ones. Is there an equivalent for socks? Like are some more comfy / worth it versus just buying a bulk pack?

In sink you wash and prepare your food in?

11-15 for me, and I hand wash daily while showering. This was a habit I acquired from travelling.

Where do you get good socks? I've always found they either are cheap Spencers Gifts style or just standard ones.

Good socks (made in at least 3 separate pieces stitched together for structure) are really expensive from what I've found, and since they are so easily ripped/stained, etc. because they're basically napkins for your feet, I just stick to the thick bottom Puma ones from Costco for dailies. Underwear I don't mind buying the good stuff because it lasts forever if taken care of well (wash delicate + hang to dry), and it doesn't really see much 'wear and tear'.

We have very different definitions of "good" socks.

Easily 50+. I think I have 15 pairs of MyPackage and 10+ SAXX in box still. I always buy them when they go on sale because the discount is pretty good a few times a year. I think I average $7-$10 for SAXX and MyPackage before the name change. Usually they are uglier colourways but I don't really care.

No I cook my food on the stove usually. Sink is a bit too small. Don't worry my privates are super clean.

You sound like someone who takes joy with peeing in the sink. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

I try and run about 16 pairs which is enough for a 2 week field stint plus 2 extra for travelling or when you inevitably shit yourself. I hate doing laundry if I am on the road and now the laundry cycle equates to when ever the hamper is full. I am a big fan of SAXX with honorable mention going to RDS and Ripzone which are the best cheaper ones I have found. I found My Package to be complete garbage and they fit super awkward I own one pair and they are emergency reserve only.

When/where do you see them on discount? SAXX always seem to be $30+ when I buy them.
