March 11-15. Who's all going? I haven't been in a few years so I'm excited to go.

Going.... love that it's back to being early this year. To me, it's the unofficial beginning to spring!

Going to try and make it for sure!

Don’t forget manufacturers tend to give some rebates just for registering and attending.

Ford is giving $750 incentive to register. Add that to a 2019 F-150 which already has 13k off cash + dealers are letting them go for invoice.

20k off an XLT.

Where do you register with Ford?

It should no longer be called "auto" show - but "truck and SUV" show - only in North America .... ugh

Darkane

Where do you register with Ford?

I believe at the ford booth on their iPads.

Furthermore, I think the dealers can register you on your behalf.

Old trick, but worth some $$

I keep telling myself that I'm 6 weeks away from buying a new truck. That's probably not true, but I keep saying it in my head.

Sometimes dealerships give them away if you are in their showroom, could try that :dunno:

The floor plan is wack this year with all 3 Germans pulled out.

Only thing looking forward to see is the C8 in person.

Yeah, I didn't realize all three had puulled out, I had thought one would remain. Oh well, I will still go one of the first few nights. Looking forward to seeing the supra and making fun of the mitsubishis and nissans. :)

Genesis will have a booth there. Find GV80 appearance unlikely. You might have to message Genesis Calgary directly to find out.

EDIT: Just looked at Featured Vehicles in Edmonton Motor Show and the GV80 is there!!!!

A huge advantage of the show is to be able to easily compare cars while things are fresh in your mind, rather than having to drive all over the city and make appointments to do the same thing.

And yes they usually have vehicles that aren't available at dealers quite yet, sometimes they are just up on a pedestal, sometimes you can go in them.

If you want to do that to save a couple bucks you have bigger problems in life.

I go almost every year in the last 20... being a germaphobe to begin with, I never ever those contests for the sole reason that it requires touching their grimey tablets. This year I'll have to be extra vigilant in not touching things and I do not too touch myself or my phone, etc. Until I wash.

Oh man, tell me about it. I remember one year (but every year really), they had a GTR on the floor and people were free to sit in it. All I can see in my mind is all the greasy handprints from people who had just finished eating at the food kiosk nearby.

Not to mention all these parents that let their kids just sit in it like a playzone while others are genuinely interested in the vehicle.

Also, I wasn't anticipating that anyone would do that for the savings but just more so due to our social issues nowadays.

Was able to get two tickets.

The (potential) virus will just be on your gloves instead of your hands, so the risk is about the same if you touch your face. I wouldn't bother unless you change gloves every time you touch something. Just keep your hands away from your face and when you walk near a washroom, pop in for a hand wash. What they really should do is make you use hand sanitizer before entering the grounds like a lot of buffets do, then at least there is a reasonable line of defense. Basically the exact same thing people should be doing every year IMO.

A guy was wearing latex gloves at my gym last night  Probably ripped on the first machine he used.

Reconsidering going if I am honest. was going to go before the Roughnecks game but with that being cancelled not sure i would make a special trip down. Seems like it might be too risky given the current events.

That is hilarious - if they have the virus on the glove or their hands it's exactly the same issue of they touch their face.

I think I mentioned in another thread there was a guy at my gym wearing latex gloves and no other protection

I've never missed a show, and my dad hasn't missed one since the 70's (he actually won a car in 1989). I imagine the crowds are way smaller this year too.

They were small enough to get into the C8 corvette and poke around as much as you like, same with the Taycan, which most people didn't seem to care about.

This was my thinking as well. Way less people + most people are paranoid, so more are probably washing their hands. You're probably more likely to catch something when nobody is taking precautions and there are a lot more people there, but that is just a guess.
