Shouldn't be a big deal. This was the response a few years back when I requested service history for a vehicle from Audi.

"Hi,

We can only release the records to the current owner. The owner can call in and we can email the records. If you have purchased the vehicle we will need
a copy of the registration before we can release them.

All depends who you ask. Dealership that serviced my Audi for the previous owner wouldn't send anything out, unless the previous owner requested it. Such horse shit.

+1 for just asking them to redact the information and give the records to you.
