ID This Car Please?

Hey Car Guru's,


Buddy was driving around his neighborhood and spotted this car and wants it ID'd to get more info on it to possibly buy it. Might be a kit car but someone on here might know what kind of kit car. He thought it could be a Lotus Europa but no beuno

I look at it and think something like an Opel but neat car regardless.

Looks like a 60’s Lotus Elite to me, older than the Europa those came in the 70’s I think.

Google image search agrees this is a Lotus Europa, but the rear end of the car says no.

Signal lights below the bumpers and a wraparound windshield are two very unique features for this thing plus the side scoops and the deep headlights. Can't find anything with a similar wraparound windshield.

Austin Healey has a couple coupes that match other than the hood. And guessing this is larger...

The sides and rear scream Citroen to me but I can't find anything like it.

A really bad mid 60s Ferrari 250 LM kit car built on top of a VW beetle. The modified air scoop is needed for the air cooled engine.

Passed along info to buddy and he confirmed the VW beetle base as someone talked to the owner. You are a guru for sure. Fearless leader!!!
