A friend is looking for a mechanical engineer to do some HVAC drawings. Does anyone know someone they could recommend? Thanks!

I suspect there is a board member who can help you out.

If not, I know that Jim from Worland-Taylor knows what he's doing.
HVAC design is complicated and can easily be expensive for something folks think should be super simple, so keep that in mind.

What is he doing that requires an Engineered drawing over a competent design build?

+1, they aren't the same thing (or cost!)

It's a commercial project related to cannabis which apparently all require an engineering stamp :dunno:

I have a family member working at AME Consulting Group. They have weed design experience there. One word of advice is don’t hire somebody that says they can do it without having a lot of experience, because they can’t, and it will turn into a giant black hole for money. Dealing with Health Canada for production is on an entirely other level from normal commercial design.

Is he looking for an hvac flow diagram / p&id type drawing or ga type drawings? I spent much of my career designing and drawing custom hvac units for oil sands.
Should be able to find someone to stamp it
