Having a weird problem on my android phone. Used to use Google music, but now they are transitioning to YouTube Music, so I'm using that now.
Issue I have is that I get repeated errors, even when I don't have the app open.
Got it over 50 times Sunday and Monday, and I wasn't trying to listen to music. Restarting the phone didn't help. .

Check out the youtube music subreddit. IMO the youtube music move was a disaster. So much so I suspended my account since I can't go back to google music. Heard lots of complaints about the app as well but also the implementation of the stuff.

The transition was a mess for me too. I didn't waste time on it and just cancelled and went with Spotify instead. I should have done this along time ago. There are tools to transfer playlists from Google to Spotify as well.

wow what a debacle, so glad I chose to wait it out .... remove the app from your phone

I'd either try fully deleting the app and reinstalling or go to settings, app and then delete the cache and see if that helps.

I still use Google Play Music just because I like it and I'm used to it, but I did do the automatic transfer to YT Music when I was prompted and in my brief testing it appears to work just fine both on my phone and through Android Auto (P4XL). I primarily still use GPM though so I can't speak for YTM stability yet. If I queue up a song via voice control in my car, it defaults to YTM and works fine but I haven't used it for full playlists yet.

If you're having issues you should just be able to simply use GPM still and wait for them to iron out any kinks that may be specific to your device.

Other things you can try is force-stopping the process (long press the app and hit the info icon). When you reboot your phone the process should restart and that might help clear the error. You can try the same with Google Play Services. Make sure it has the permissions it wants enabled, too.

I don't want to switch. I won't till they force me.

I have Google music, my car gets 40 rods to the hog's head and that's the way I likes it.

I hate Google Music. I love Youtube Music, I'm indifferent on spotify, but my wife loves it.
I'm sorry to hear you're having issues. Try clearing the cache, and if that doesn't work, clear the full storage. You'll need to sign in, and redownload any content you have.

The move of my library is seemless now.

But AA interface is still kinda buggy. And Google Assistant via AA is spotty as well when I searches for songs.

AA can't seem to launch the Youtube Music interface for me. I still need to start songs via the app, and then I can control the song (pause/next song/etc) via AA, but can't go back to look at playlists and such.

I don't have Android Auto or anything. And I really don't use any music app that often. I do like to have two or three playlists favourited for use while I'm working, and maybe a couple download for bluetoothing to my trailer speakers when I'm camping. And of course Phil Colins' Serious Hits, Live! running the rest of the time on an endless loop.

My wife had some kind of paid Google music family account, but i don't think I'm even using it anymore. I dunno. I still listen to CKUA on terrestrial radio probably more than anything through my phone.

Havent' been having the problem much today, only once or twice . . . .
