List and discuss surprisingly old items you have around your house. Bonus points for things that are not meant to last decades.

Today realized that a pack of cough drops I just finished had an expiry in 2012, and the new pack has expiry in 2023, so it's possible I bought those in 2009 or so....

I've got a belt about that old that I still use too.

I've got clothes and coats that I have had since high school that I still wear, usually for messy garage or household chores/projects. I'm sure I've got some computer hardware from the 90's too haha

I also have a belt from early 1980s that my grand father used and now I’ve inherited it and wear it almost every day.

I also have some leather hiking boots from 1998 that are great although apparently I’m not allowed to take them on the WCT next year because my hiking companions are concerned that the soles could fall off (is this a thing?).

I for sure have clothing from university, and I started university in the 1990's.
Weirdly, I don't think I have any old belts. Somehow lost a few. Have two from Saddleback now that should last forever, but they aren't old yet.

Have a pair of Blundstone boots that are ~20 years old. Have worn through the sole so I should probably replace.

A week or so ago I made a mug of chicken soup with soup mix that expired in 2014.

I don't have any cough medicine with an expiry date more recent than 2017.

I still have a Grad 2000 glass in my cupboard.

I have a VCR from 2003 in a closet. Edit: My Blu-ray player is from 2007.

I have a crib board that I've had since 2000. I haven't played a game on it in probably at least 15 years.

I have a CD case from 2002. It has install discs for a printer and a scanner in it.

I've owned my living room couch and chair since 2007. I've moved cities twice with them and as long as they're still functional I'll always take them with me because they're the most comfortable pieces of furniture that have ever been invented.

I'm way the hell older then most here. Still have my 1985 Yammy I bought brand new at Year Round Yamaha  To top that off, after my parents passed away I bought their home that we grew up in from my two siblings. My parents had it built by my moms' cousins back in 73/74. Its way old, but we love it still. Not nearly as old as Sentry's Ithaca, but I inherited my Pop's late 50's Savage SxS 12 guage, and a few other odds and ends. Have been trying to scale back and let things go for years now unless I use it or its got super sentimental value as you can tell.

Some things are built to last. and old stuff is cool no matter what it is. But I was specifically thinking about non-durable items, like underwear. Wish i had dates on some of mine, because it's gotta be 15+ years. I should probably retire some of that fleet . . .

Found some cold medication that expired in 2010 today. Tossed it because the medicine cabinet is getting full. Also realized I had five containers of sinus decongestant. Maybe I should not buy any more for the year . . .

When I go on a mall vacation the first thing I like to do is go shopping. Save the mall and pool for day 2 or 3, what's the rush?

Reminds me of a canvas 8-person tent we had (probably 70s/80s?). It was around 60 pounds and fit in a duffel the size of a punching bag and wasn't water repellant at all. Still used it all the time with the middle "room" as the cook house and the outer rooms sleeping 2 a side. The poles connected like a cheap hockey goal (same dimensions as well) and the canvast stretched all around it.

Damn, makes me realize how soft people are now.

Since somebody already posted a firearm, I'll follow suit.

Oldest shoulder supported (ie rifle/shotgun/etc) firearms I have (I have some older handguns).

Dewat (deactivated war trophy, non firing, cock/clickable, display units) MG34 and MG42. I picked up both 20+ years ago when they weren't a fortune. Someone told me once that you can make the MG42 work with 762 NATO rounds by sticking in an MG3 barrel kit, but those are uncommon in Canada, and that would be illegal anyway. Both were manufactured in the early 1940s.
