I've been watching. Very very nice '60 impala went for $11,700. fuck me. I hate not having an impala, especially at that price.

LoL, you can be fairly confident it wasn't a steal from Barrett Jackson.

I don't think they sell the kind of things I can afford at Barrett Jackson. Most of them look like they were owned by respectable people.

There was a 2006 Jeep Wrangler with a Viper V10 engine that sold for $46K or something. 2001 M3 for $22K. 2001 911 $25K. Apparently Super Saturday and they've got a new Ford GT, Lexus LFA and some crazy classic muscle cars. This whole concept seems cool, I'd like to check it out in person one day.

Why would someone want that? The only reason to build that is to sell it to someone.

Ya but still a bubble top in very nice condition(on the TV anyways) for about 16k CDN is a good price. I've been looking at early to mid 60s impalas over the last few years and they are steadily going up in price, even for a moderate one.

Yah, I'm likely wrong. It's the $100k+ cars that get bid up way over their value by dick-swinging, rich, old white guys.
The regular inventory at BJ isn't subject to that.

Definitely. Every so often I have a jaw drop moment at how cheap some of the stuff goes for. Makes me think that this no reserve is bullshit and itll likely go back with the owner for sale at another spot. There are alot of shady characters surrounding these auctions.

The new pricing is no longer relevant now. The Vipers value has jumped up since they quit making the car, and the tree huggers are trying end gasoline vehicles. I bought my 2014 GTS for 116k out the door, taxes in, extended warranty, etc. I sold it 3 years later for 100k even. Toda the car is worth 130k on used market. Crazy. I could've drove it for 6 years and made 15 grand on it. The left over 2017 ACR's in Ontario are listed for 250k.

Also there's an amazing number of people in the crowd who refuse to wear their mask properly.

The F355 Spider sold for a marker-correct price. A friend in Toronto just sold his '99 F1 to a dealer for a bit more in US$, but it was a great car and I would have my doubts about the black car... Only a masochist would buy a blinged-out F355 from Barrett Jackson.

$4,800 MULTI PORT INJECTION!!!

This two-owner 1988 Chevrolet Cavalier Z24 is in good condition and has 114,452 actual miles. Within the last year, a new convertible top and new air conditioning system were installed. It's powered by a 2.8-liter V8 engine producing 125hp backed by an automatic transmission, propelling the car from 0-60 in 8.5 seconds. I once made jokes about people looking for restoration parts for a 90 Chevrolet Beretta, then I met someone that was actually restoring a 90 Chevrolet Beretta GT.

You could listen to Bad To The Bone in that car and really mean it as opposed to the usual scenario where it's clear that your parents should have drowned you.

GM made some awesome low end sporty cars in the very early 90s.

The beretta gtz with the 180hp NA 4 cyl was Sweet.

The ultra rare olds quad 4 442 with the very hi-po W41 190hp NA-4cyl is hideous, but amazing. Motor trend did a 14.7@96 with it.

I've always really liked what GM was doing in the late 80s and early 90s. Mom had a 93 or 94 Z24. I had a 92 Lumina Z34. Our neighbors had a Lumina Euro. My aunt and uncle had a Bonneville SSE and another guy in town had an SSEi. A friend of mine had a Beretta Z26 and another friend's parents had a Quad 442 and a Grand Prix GTP. I'd have zero problem owning any one of them.

I wouldn't expect to find one at Barrett Jackson, though.

Their powertrains were solid. But the cars themselves in that era were generally terrible. Awful interiors, uncomfortable seats, bad driving position, dreadful audio systems, handling like your living room sofa etc.

The corsica is the real beauty

We had an '88 Corsica that we bought in '89 and sold in '99, I learned how to drive in that car. By the end all I remember was the horrible lifter tick from the 2.8L V6, the red interior and the awful peeling paint.

There were some cool cars for the time, my aunt had a '96 Bonneville SSEi with the supercharged 3.8L. My high school brain remembers that car being really quick, and the 12 way adjustable front seats were pretty comfortable. The incredible amount of FWD torque steer and poor handling left a lot to be desired though.
