Residential street plowing and proper digging out of bus stops and crosswalks is ongoing. Some streets in my area are showing on the city map as plowed.
Plows have been down my street but they pick up thier blade before they go through the intersection, so the intersection remains the worst condition of all. Makes turning and such a real rodeo.

Ya it was pretty crazy here, wind peaked at 160km/h and there were wide-spread power outages in Sask. Our power went off/on for a couple hours then stayed on at midnight. Others were not so lucky and still don't have power. Everything was snow blasted and covered in thick layers of snow and ice. Price of doing business in Saskatchewan.

She's slippery this morning. Got a little slow drift at the bottom on 19st NW, was about to just as slowly crap my pants.

I'm not sure what time you drove down there, but around 7AM there was a pickup truck with Bobcat and trailer facing up the hill, but through the chain link fence at the bottom of the hill. I'm guessing he started sliding and spun completely around and went through the fence. There was a tow truck nearby and it was gone when I drove back up the hill around 7:30.

If there isn't a major pile up at the bottom of that hill this morning, I'll be surprised. Lots of traffic diverted that way with the 14st hill being closed due to a house fire.

If I was finboy I'd setup a lawn chair nearby and watch.

Yeah. Was on Glenmore at 6:15, completely unplowed. Deerfoot north up to 17th, no sign a plow had been there at all, then north of 17th it looked a plow had been through, but not for several hours. I dont know if much has changed with them - but when I was working with Enmax and we had to park on DF to access some of the electrical sites - Carmacks was incompetent and highly entitled. As a citizen I have sent them several complaints about issues on DF but have never received one email from them even acknowledging anything.

I went through the area just before they closed off Deerfoot. I even mentioned to Baygirl as we were driving south that it's not a good day for driving and these conditions are going to make for a bad accident.

Sure enough, on the way back north 20 mins later, 3 accidents on SB deerfoot, with 1 REALLY bad one just south of the McKnight overpass. I managed to get it on my cell phone dash cam as we drove past, and it looked nasty. Looked like firefighters were trying to cut one guy out of a service truck, and another person out of a 4 door sedan. about 6 vehicles involved there.

All of that, and what Rage said, and the biggest ones are speed and inattention.

When I was coming south through there, visibility was fluctuating between 1-200 meters. The blowing snow was brutal. I was coasting along between 70-80kph, but I was leaving about a full tractor and trailer distance between me and the person in front. First sign on a brake light (if i could see it) i was immediately on my breaks too, ready to push harder if needed. Conditions between Country hills and 16th were really quite bad. If I didn't absolutely have to be on the roads there, I would have turned around and went home. Like I said, I told Baygirl that this was a dangerous road right now and something big is gonna happen.

revelations
02-05-2021, 06:23 PM
Yea DF around 1pm was pretty bad for vis, not too bad for grip with studded winters.

I was in the fast lane maintaining 80kph with someone a semi trailers distance at least, in front, but I noticed the person in front of me was leaving normal dry conditions distance to the person ahead of them, and so I backed off a bit more.
