A really close buddy of mine lost his dad last year in an accident and a few of us have come together to get a memorial built for his family to put up where the accident happened. We've already taken a run at it with a plasma table but the kerf was just too big for some of elements of the cut so I want to get it laser cut instead. Everything is already in a dxf file ready to rock but I am looking for some recommendations on local-ish (within an hours drive of CGY) shops that could hammer it out. If they do in house powder coating that would be a bonus but not necessary. I have been talking to one shop north of town but I think they are just so swamped that getting anything cut within the next few weeks is probably not realistic.

Mostly looking for recommendations with first hand experiences with shops as I've been hearing some mixed reviews about local places.

Could call Fuse33 and ask, I know their big laser can do metal cuts with oxygen assist but I don't know if they do it much. Might be worth asking or they could point you in the right direction.

Waterjet may also be an option if the details aren't crazy small, it cuts quite clean.

Yeah +1 for waterjet. Try Shoreline Fabrication. They are great guys, been dealing with them for over 10 years.

I've used clear cut metal works in past.

You could also look up EDM (electric discharge machining) as well.... however not sure about the price comparison to the others.

I've used Laser Equations in Calgary for some small product runs with good results.

The price is astronomical compared to water or laser cut.
