Hey all, I found an autobody guy who does rust repairs, sheet metal, PDR, frame, paint... pretty much everything to do autobody.

He'll show you his work which is top notch. I've spent some time looking at his work. He'll be doing some autobody work on my car next week. If you're interested in getting some work done for dirt cheap (he's been doing autobody work for 35 years) call him. Tell him "Riz with a Red car told me about you"

He is experienced and certified and does repairs, damages, panels, dents and dent scratches. Text him your pictures and he'll call you.

Maybe my phone is disagreeing with a script, or are those super tiny images for everyone else?

Those are known as thumbnails. Basically so-called links to photos. But not the same "links" like you are used to eating.

I cant see much, but it looks like it's all spot welding which is what you need to do for that thin gauge material. It never really looks good.

It get ground down and bondo'd anyways.

Agreed, there is a market for this kind of basic repair.

You'd certainly know better than I would.

I never said there wasn't a market for it. There's arguably a way bigger market for lower price/quality than there is for maranello/contemporary coachworks quality.

Not rust, but I had a perfect trunk from a 2009 Honda civic that I just needed painted and they were going to charge me over 800 for it.

Exactly. At least he's welding in metal for strength rather than spraying in foam and bondo'ing over it. And it looks like he did a decent job of cutting out the cancer, so it should be at least somewhat long-lasting.

Well I stopped by today to see the mustang. Body is completely sanded smooth and first coat of primer sanded. He should be doing a 2nd coat of primer and likely a final 3rd coat and painting this week. Then he will have to reinstall the door, trunk, spoiler, lights and all of the other stuff that he took off and I will take it home and install all the trims, gaskets and window that I removed at home.

I have a lot of before photos so now just need the after

If any of you want to give him a call his number is 403-899-6188 and his name is Ilie. He works out of his garage / shop in Delacour. Great guy and you can have a look at what he has done so far to my mustang and he can show you his before photos.

BTW I let him know that I was posting about his work on beyond.ca and that he would likely get a few phone calls from guys wanting good work at good value prices. I will send him a link to this thread once I post my photos as well.

I been meaning to update everyone one on the Excellent work that Eli did for me. I have now washed my car 3 times and been driving it for a little over 2 weeks and the paint looks fantastic!

I brought the car to him with a thick and rough coat of primer applied over the body filler work that I had done in my garage due to large hail damage. Eli fixed a lot of spots were you could still see the hail and then he primed the car and painted it. He worked on my drivers side, roof and trunk. He offered to do a full car polish as well and some paint correction as i have a few scuffs on the bumpers but I declined for this one as I will likely be selling anyways.

I will personally be using Eli again to do an entire car for me once I find a new project this fall :)

Well because Eli signed up as a beyond user today I wont list what he specifically charged me but I can say that he was 1/3 or less of the quoted prices that I received off 2 other kijiji guys and from 2 small body shops on 17th Ave SE.

I should also mention that I brought the car dismantled for him to only remove the door and trunk and I assembled the interior/door handle/glass at home so that also saved me a few bucks on labor.

all depends on how much you want to spend. Eli and I looked at a few crashed copart gems and he said that he could fix anything but he preferred side impact or rear impact collisions as they are much faster and cheaper to fix. Rust buckets he told me no problem as he would cut and weld new metal.
