Looks like both companies are launching monthly memberships.

Includes a free ticket and 2 additional tickets at $9.99. You have to pay the difference for AVX, Imax etc but it should be cheaper than regular cost.

Looks like you can watch as many movies you want at the discounted rate.

This is right up my alley especially during the summer months. Love the theatres especially since I don't have a home theatre with a 30ft screen like you beyond ballers lol.

So basically it's 30% off tickets if you commit to watching at least 1 movie a month. Less % discount if you go AVX/iMax. Sounds like a great recurring revenue model for them without much of an upside for you.

For the record, I was on Sinemia and more than broke even on it (68% off over the life of the 1 year membership), and watching that many movies was a chore. There's just not enough releases that I wanted to watch once a month, let alone how ever many times I ended up going back then.

Especially since you are just going to premier access them all anyway.

The tickets roll over if you don't use it and you can cancel anytime.

I guess it depends if you want to go any showings or cheap Tuesdays only for a discount.

and watching that many movies was a chore.

This.

I have enough trouble figuring out what to watch at home, let alone devoting 3 hours of my time to go out.

Is this any better than Costco though? 20$ for the tickets and 20% off concession versus 26$ for two tickets, drinks, popcorn, snack.

Costco is only a good deal if you really want that much food.

I usually prefer to just get a real meal before the movie.

I just hate all these add-ons and stuff. Of course people are going to go for AVX, IMAX, etc.
Fuck off and give it up for $9.99 for any showing. Never going to watch a movie again in my life at this point considering how quickly movies are available post-release and I can enjoy in my own house.

Lol, and someone gives me a negative rep with a "." comment because you're a tool who is too scared to even say who you are, let alone put an actual reason

Gold star bud. Pissing on me for wanting to pay for movies in my home instead of watching them in theatre.

I too enjoy movies more at home than in theatres now, so I'm giving you a + rep haha.

Haha I legit spend 30-45 minutes looking for something to watch across 3 streaming services only to realize it's too late to start and finish something, and then repeat it again the next night

They should just make a streaming service that only shows movie trailers or movies condensed into 5 minutes haha

Figured this thread would suffice to throw this in, Cineplex adding $1.50 fee for online/app ticket purchases

Which is really bizarre. Because you would think if anything they would want to incent pre buying of tickets rather than buying same day at the theatre.

Much easier to plan if you know how many seats you have sold a week in advance.

It defies logic.

They should call a spade a spade. It's a price increase.

Exactly

the other price increase will be in a few months and then they will have separate reasons.

I'll be going to landmark from now on but I assume they will follow suit. The atom app is much better anyways.
