I am remembering him from The Wire as Omar right now, but I am sure he was in many other movies/shows as well. He had this iconic, massive scar across his one side of the face which made him look like a real bad ass.

He hosted a show on Vice I think? Black Markets… was pretty badass for him being such an accomplished actor at that point

Kinda strange that he would OD though, you’d think he’d have the resources for pharmacy based opioids

to be fair, i posted this in the what are you watching thread but it was split out. I actually wouldn't have recognized him by name only either, i only knew him as Omar from The Wire.

Too bad, he was a great actor. He did such a good job with Omar and Chalky White.

He was in Hap and Leonard as well, good show...might still be on Netflix, I watched all 3 seasons.

I’d say it’s the main reason that a seasoned addict ODs, street drugs cut with Christ know’s what… starting with a pill that has a lab dosed amount of active ingredient would eliminate that. There is always the possibility of course that it was intentional, or a relapse and he tried a dose he use to be able to handle

Really sad, he was great in boardwalk empire if anyone only knows him from the wire
