I have my 2018 Lexus IS350 up for sale on Kijiji.

Received a call from a buyer from Canada Drivers, explained to me they are buying vehicles in Alberta, and are looking to launch an online dealership.

I was hesitant at first, however, my wife's cousin works for them out in BC, and let me know that this is something that is happening out here, and they are trying to build their inventory.

To add to that, their offer was very fair, and not the typical low ball offer I would expect from a dealership. (Only 5% below my asking price)

Anyone else gone through this process?

They let me know they will come pick up the vehicle, offer direct deposit as far as payment etc.

Sounds reasonable...
That's a $40k vehicle that should be in hot demand, though. Are you sure you need to discount that in this market?

LOL right? I'm just not totally up for the constant texts, asking for details, nickel and diming, etc.

The listing by the way...

Time is money, but I agree with TPIM to a certain extent. It's not demand that you're looking for, it's the right buyer who understands what they're getting and is willing to pay for it.

Like you said, there's always lowballers looking to kick tires or trade you for their $8000 shitbox. Taking a $2000 hit to avoid all that isn't egregious but you should be making that call yourself, not asking Beyond. There are members who don't bat an eye at losing $15k on a trade-in and others who will fight for the last dollar.

If you've priced it according to the market or even lower, it's worth waiting a couple of weeks instead of passing easy profit margin onto a dealer unless you hate selling shit or don't care about the loss.

It'd be ironic if Canada Drives told you to eat shit 2 weeks later if you went back to them

Lol totally, really valid points.

To clarify, purpose of the thread and reason I was bringing to beyond to see if anyone had gone through the process of selling to Canada Drives. In terms of the actual semantics of selling. From what they told me basically , they come pick up the car from your house, EFT you the funds, and you really don’t need to do anything else.

Having an inside track from wife's cousin who works for them seems reassuring.

Let us know if you end up following through!

Hell, I think we've recently heard even that House Of Cars will come through on these types of deals.
I would not be overly concerned about the legitimacy or process.

I sold my focus RS lately for full asking price. No haggling. So…. I’d probably just wait it out if I were you

$38.5 seems cheap for a IS350 AWD with F3. I would think you wouldn't have a huge issue getting your asking in this market, imo
