Tires Help?

SAY I HAVE A SET OF 18 INCH RIMS

AND DRIVE A MUSTANG

ARE THESE DECENT TIRES?>

Well, first off, do you know if this is the right tire size to use??
I'm not familiar with stock tire sizing for a Stang, but you want to keep it close to the stock overall tire height.

If it is, good. Next what do you plan on doing with the tires. What kinda driving?? Weekends at the track. Daily car. ETC.
Based on that, what do you want to more out of your tire??
Traction, handling, treadwear...

Personally, I drive daily, so I looked at something with more treadwear life, then handling and traction, for example.

the 712's are pretty good tires. not the best, but not the worst either. generally i believe they are considered a pretty good value.

Those tires are way to small, diameter-wise. If you want 18's on your stang' you should be looking at about 245/40/18's. Your wheel size should be like 18x9. If you went with that other size your speedo would be off by alot. You would have better acceleration though.

Talk to a shop that specializes in Mustang's. I'm sure there's lots of them around.

And yes, Kumho 712's are good and relatively cheap performance tires.

What year is your Mustang? I did my car a 2002 on www.tirerack.com for my curiosity, and it gave me these sizes for 18s. Check out the site it might help you out.

At what speed??

With my new tires, my speedo is about 2% too slow. Which is really nothing to worry about either way.
