I want to organize the dozen or so drill bit cases on my bench... Anyone know of a bit organizer that fits everything from 1/16th up to 1", or even better up to 2"+?

Amazon has a few like this (https://www.amazon.ca/FastCap-KISS-Index-16-inch-Color-Coded/dp/B00VVHLZ7S/?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_w=RMmJl&pf_rd_p=aa0eb9f1-1ea2-48b2-8ab1-b3859370648d&pf_rd_r=8SB3ZSH4AK6D5W9WXTYF&pd_rd_r=59fb8b59-731d-4e7d-aa7c-8db932ecd32a&pd_rd_wg=YDBud&ref_=pd_gw_ci_mcx_mi) but they all seem to cap out at 1/2", and I'm not sure how I feel about plastic for a bit holder.

I’d just buy a slab of aluminum and start drillin’.

I mean i'm sure gretz could mill you one out of aluminum but - plastic works, and is easily customizable. You could probably sketch out what works in about 5 minutes in tinkercad...
