What’s the verdict? Do I get to keep my foodie card?

I should really try Linas

I already know what Cob's buns taste like. I enjoy them because they are easy to eat, super tasty/flavorful and soft chewy without making a big mess. It is my top 3 because of its overall goodness. I still like me a fresh warm cinnzeo, but I gotta eat it with a knife and fork.

Would you like some bun with your pecans?
Looks amazing!!!!!

Thought you were at TPiM's house with the bag of cheddar sausages in the back. But realized it wasn't.

Good news is that the deep SE is getting a cinnamon bun shop.

Bad news is its that vegan shit.

It’s a bit. Let me know if you want to go, guessing it’s the giant bun at Roy’s place you’d like to try?

So basically no good news. It's like opening a Harvey's when you wanted a different burger place.

Tried the new Cinnaholics down in the dirty SE. Meh. Too much focus on toppings and such. Just make the bun good so you dont have to cover it up.

I hear Roy's in Claresholm is really good. Need to go.

Didn't want to start a new thread: where to get the best churros in Calgary?

Halo donuts and churros… still a popup but they’re partnering with some quality places

It sounds like a shit version of a food truck. When I want churros in Tucson, I just go to a churro cart that is always there, and get some amazing fresh churros. The second there is a) a line or b) the possibility of "sold out"

...then I'm out.

The Mexican dude selling them all day would laugh at the concept of being "sold out".

I have never had a good churro in Calgary, and some hipster culinary artist isn't likely to change that.

They are vegan, and they suck.

The toppings are there to distract you.

Of course if you are a vegan, they are the best thing ever.

Try Cialis, it will work wonders on your churro.

Vegan = "we want to get our COGS down, so we are going to rename margarine to vegan butter."

It’s a proof of concept before injecting capital into a high risk industry… support popup, then you get churros on demand. Free market at its finest

Oh, I think its a great idea from a marketing and business perspective....assuming there are enough people with more patience/time than me.

Maybe in Portland the business makes sense..

Your post triggered me wanting to try their churros. (Kinda miss that California food cart at Great America fresh churro sold by legit Mexican feel tho)

Skip the pop up and line ups if you buy their min. I just wanted to try one, good thing I live in a condo pass em around to condo cleaning staff, concierge, random residences all morning.

Will make a what’s for lunch at +15 post in a bit…
